Situated in Petrolia, CA, Lost Coast Camp welcomes campers ages 5-17 to participate in our programs and activities. Every camper at Lost Coast Camp is guaranteed an amazing and unique experience in a safe and FUN atmosphere.

Lost Coast Camp has an outstanding facility with a friendly barn, a warm kitchen and outdoor dining area, 4 cabins for the campers, a challenge course, and is just a walk away from the Mattole River and Mill Creek. Away from town and traffic, young people will be able to experience a very different lifestyle.
Services
Lost Coast Camp is committed to being a safe place for all regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity. The recent murders of Rayshard Brooks, George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and far too many others have rallied our nation for change around the inequities and violence Black people have experienced for centuries.
Get to know your cabin mates, swim in the river, sing songs, hike in Mill Creek forest, make art, do archery and camp under the stars, listen to a Robinson Crusoe story, earn a medallion, feed cows on ranch day, dig potatoes, go canoeing up the river, climb your mountains. With the ongoing pandemic, we have had to come up with an alternative way to run Makers Camp.
During free time campers may play catch, play group games, work on crafts, read, blackberry picking, etc. as long as accompanied by a staff member or JC. Painting, mask-making, friendship bracelets, origami, drawing, clay, or any other form of creative expression possible with the supplies provided.
At camp, all campers will be living in an open-air cabin, spending all of their time outside. Don't pack anything that you wouldn't want to be ruined or destroyed by playing in nature! Lost Coast Camp has a no weapon policy. This includes pocket knives. A camper that violates this policy may be subject to discipline, up to and including termination from Lost Coast Camp.
Josie and Farmer John bring so much love and life to camp every year. Leading games and activities, including everyone's favorite, Ranch Day at their very own 7B Ranch. LCC would not be here if it weren't for all the love Josie and Farmer John put into camp and our community every year. Hope has been cooking at Lost Coast Camp for longer than anyone can remember.

I love the river and art because it was cool that everyone either worked together or did their own thing but still asked for help. My name is Brian Love.
I was not expecting this many views on a honest post

A slice of heaven for kids of all ages! From hikes along damp Douglas Fir forest trails, to sunny afternoons swimming in the majestic Mattole River, song-filled hayrides, games, arts and crafts, overnight beach backpacking, and camper directed skits at campfire. This camp is pure magic! Josie (one of the long time Camp facilitators) is a compassionate, worldly, strong woman that reigns down a special kind something that you will want your kids to be apart of! My children loved this camp and have done nothing but talk about it since!

I cannot say enough good things about this camp. My son attended the 2017 session of day camp and we are now going to plan all of our future summers around LCC. We are located in Oakland and many of the summer camps here are overscheduled, have a corporate feel, and seem to be more interested in developing fancy websites than providing quality experiences for kids.

That's not LCC. Roxann, who runs the day camp, and Josie, who is the camp founder, create a loving and special experience for all the kids through a daily schedule that promotes friendship, connection, and trust for one another

A great place for kids to spend the summer making friends. Remote and rustic and tons of fun. I've worked at this camp in the past and it is an amazing place for young people: Hiking on the Beach; Swimming in the Mattole River, Overnight camping in the Mattole Valley; Nightly campfires with songs and story telling; Teen Backpacking trip; Canoes; Mill Creek; Art; Raids; Dance Party; Ropes Course; Friends...

I've only ever meet wonderful, caring and compassionate people working for the camp - still friends with many of them.

Love this place!

My daughter attends Lost Coast Camp every summer and enjoys every minute of it...This is a place where she has learned to grow, respect herself and others, and the staff are great. A special thanks to the owner Josie for making those who do attend camp feel comfortable and unique in their own individualism. You're an amazing person.....
LOST COAST CAMP & STAFF ROCKS..... SO DO ALL THE YOUTH WHO ATTEND EACH SUMMER....
SEE YOU ALL AT THE REUNION
