Homecoming Week concludes with Rice's annual RJ Rice Run. Run or walk a scenic 5K course around Rice's neighborhood to honor the legendary RJ Noonan '49, former Rice faculty member and long-time coach. All proceeds benefit Rice's athletics programs. As a Roman Catholic School, Rice Memorial High School exists to guide its students toward the realization of their God-given potential.
Services
Founded in 1917 as Cathedral High School, our school was renamed Rice Memorial High School after moving to the current location in 1959. We are one of only two Catholic high schools in Vermont and the only one serving Vermon'ts largest city, Burlington. Our mission is to guide our students toward the realization of their God-given potential.
With students from 12 different countries, Rice Memorial High School boasts a diverse student body. Our international students choose to study at Rice for a variety of reasons. Rice students can be found at school long after classes are done enjoying sports, clubs and the 90+ year tradition of Stunt Nite.

Over $800,000 in tuition assistance is awarded to students each year based on need. Rice uses a third party, FACTS, to evaluate eligibility in order to administer financial aid objectively and with consistency. Many factors are considered when evaluating financial need including income, size of family, assets/liabilities, and living expenses.
As a College Preparatory School, Rice has a rigorous curriculum meant to prepare students for college. Rice has 14 Honors classes and 15 AP classes accessible to all students. A dedicated faculty with a small student ratio of 11:1 fosters a love of learning. With SAT scores higher than the state average and over 90 percent of graduates attending college, Rice students make their education a priority.
