Abbas Taherian, a native of Iran, came to Tennessee in 1974 to attend Middle Tennessee State University. After graduating in 1980, Abbas moved to Nashville where he started his business of Oriental Rug Cleaning and Restoration. He worked hard to build his business and treated every customer with respect while always ensuring he did quality work.
This quickly helped his business grow just by word of mouth alone and solidified his place in the Nashville market. In 1985, he added a showroom to his business and began selling fine oriental rugs. With his extensive knowledge of rugs and the rug business, he quickly began to excel in the retail rug arena as well.

Services
Complete antique rug restoration including hole re-weaving, hand-sewing fringes, hand-knotting wool and more. The rug experts at Abbas Oriental Rugs specialize in oriental rug cleaning and repair of all antique and hand-woven rugs. We only use a special soap and never shampoo or machinery. Antique rugs can be very expensive to replace, which is why so many people trust Abba's for professional rug hand-cleaning and repair.
We hand clean your rug with a special imported olive oil soap; no harsh shampoos or chemicals are ever used. We never send rugs to other rug or carpet cleaning services; all rugs are cleaned in our shop that is designed for careful rug cleaning. After your rug is cleaned by hand it is hung to dry inside our shop.
After your rug is evaluated and approved we provide a certification of authenticity & value that is recognized world wide. Getting an expert appraisal on your oriental antique rug is the only way to confirm the rugs "true value". Over time the value will change based on rug industry trends, inflation and rising prices.
Have your knotted-pile rugs professionally washed and moth proofed every two to four years. Abbas Oriental Rug Gallery can do this best outside the home. Many professional rug cleaners don't get your rug thoroughly damp, and the wrong shampoo can make the wool stiff because it dries out the natural oils.
