Services
The Pre-School Division is divided into creative movement and creative dance for ages 3-5 and pre-ballet for ages 6-7. Auditions are not required. These programs provide a meaningful prelude to formal ballet instruction, introducing children to movement and music through a structured, developmental progression that stresses creativity and group interaction.
The Pre-Professional Division is designed for students who are highly motivated, both physically and mentally, and meet the full curriculum requirements at their levels, and include students who have become serious about their dance training. All students should be able to meet the demands of the classical syllabus and are required to participate fully, without exception, in the complete curriculum as specified by the Director.
The Open and Adult Division is designed for anyone (eight year old to adult) who wishes to learn more about the aesthetic rewards and physical benefits of dance. Enjoy one class weekly or develop a comprehensive class schedule tailored to your specific needs and level of experience. Open and Adult Division classes are offered for teenagers (eight years and older) and adults who enjoy dance.
Have a dance party for your child's birthday at Studio of Dance and invite 8 - 10 of your friends! Let us help create a magical day your child will never forget with a Ballet Birthday Party! Your dancer and friends will celebrate a special birthday with one and one half wonderful hours of ballet fun and activities with the director.
On referral from a friend, our daughter started at the studio in the spring of 2017. She really responded to Bette-Ann's teaching style, and was thrilled to be part of the spring production. With any activity, it seems that you either get incredible coaching without any warmth, or lots of warmth and less-than-serious coaching, but here you get both.

I started taking virtual ballet classes over Zoom with Bette-Ann during lockdown last fall, and so far it’s been an amazing experience! Although we’ve never met in person, Bette-Ann’s enthusiasm for dance and the personal attention she shows each student in her class made me feel immediately welcome in the (virtual) studio community. It was difficult to find a ballet studio that offered adult beginner classes, but within a few days of sending an inquiry email to the Studio of Dance, Bette-Ann followed up with a phone call discussing her teaching method, my experience, and my goal for dance

I have been dancing with Miss Bette for 3 years now and I can’t recommend her studio enough. I came to her studio at 16, as a beginner ballet student, after struggling to find any other studio in the area that would take a beginner in her late teens. I have seen Miss Bette work with students of all ages and levels and she always finds a way to uniquely meet each student’s needs. Her classes are focused on developing great technique while helping dancers build strength and flexibility. Miss Bette finds the perfect balance of support and tough-love to keep her classes fun, joyful, and challenging
