In 1984, the University of Wisconsin-Stout graduate accepted an offer from a fellow Iranian to manage a rug business in Minneapolis. Though initially skeptical, Sam fell in love with rugs, especially the Persian rugs of his homeland. Four years later, Navab Brothers was born. Farzan "Far" Navab caught the "Rug Bug" from his brother, Sam.

My wife and I fell in love with Persian carpets when we were both graduate students at the University of Texas at Austin. Because of the strong Engineering programs at UT and the importance of oil to the Iranian economy there were many Iranian students there (pre-1978 revolution) including my office mate and good friend who introduced us to carpets. I just bought a rug from their warehouse. There were no signs posted that all sales are final. After I purchased the rug, I changed my mind and wanted to return it. The sales guy said all sales are final, it's clearly written on the receipt.
What a sneaky way to make a sale. Who states that on the sales receipt and not put up signs for it in the store or at the very least, mention it when I am buying it that this the rug cannot be returned.
