Pilates Reformer is a system designed to transform the way your body looks, feels, and performs. It builds strength without excess bulk; creating a sleek, toned body. It teaches flexibility and good posture focusing on your "core" or center of the body, predominantly abdominals, back, and thighs. Professional dancers have used the reformer for decades.
A Private session is the ideal way to do Pilates. New students can receive a discounted $40 intro session to experience the Pilates equipment and how it benefits the body*. In a duet session, the instructor works with two students together. Students use Pilates equipment and incorporate mat work into their session.
Personal training sessions are 55 minutes in length and are tailored to fit your individual needs and fitness goals. Whether you are training for a race, preparing for an event, or simply need motivation to get healthy, personal training sessions will help you stay motivated and accountable.

Sessions include various types of exercises including strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, functional training, balance training, core-strengthening, HIIT, stretching, TRX training, and much more. The type of exercises performed will be based on your specific needs, goals, and ability level.

Have been attending Core Pilates for nearly 5 years, beginning in a weekly Reformer class and now weekly semi-private lessons. The teachers at Core have a deep knowledge of body mechanics and pursue further study to improve their techniques. A few insights into my experience:
Having children and working full time caused muscular back pain, which weekly Reformer classes remedied.
I take medications that affect the integrity of my bones, and a recent bone density scan showed that my "spine is beautiful" per my MD - I give ALL of the credit to Bear and the staff at Core Pilates.

Attended a mat class with Lindsey last night -- her flow was great, instruction helpful and she had the perfect balance of stretching and muscle building exercises for our hour long class. My abs were cooked! Awesome class.

I was visiting Louisville in Apr, maybe Feb? anyway, I had the pleasure of participating in a REFORMER class for the first time in my life. I do Pilates Mat with my local gym in DC every other day, along with a weight/cardio class on days I'm not in Pilates and I have to say the class was a challenge.
It was great! The instructor, Bear (wow, right?), was patient and helpful. The class participants were welcoming and offered guidance as we gathered/put away equipment. The price was right and the time was even better (7ish??). I'm headed back to Louisville and I'm looking forward to going back!
