In April of 1994, our company started as Confidential Background Investigations, which provided background services to employers of Salt Lake City, Utah and surrounding areas. In August of 1995, we partnered with the Salt Lake City Corporation and started our first physical security service at the city and county building in downtown Salt Lake City.
At CBI Security, our breadth of expertise goes far beyond security guard services alone. For over 20 years, we have been expanding operations and improving our training processes. Now, CBI is not just a contract security company, but overall experts in the many facets of private security administration.
Although CBI Security started in Utah, our business has grown to include an operation in Phoenix, Arizona that also functions as a fully comprehensive security agency. We don't just want to be a regular security contractor. I am currently working for HSS Security, a very sharp, modern company with good pay. In stark contrast, I found CBI Security Services to be the most dishonest, lacks integrity and in their efforts to please a contract they have literally tossed out all ethics. I worked for them for 3 months and was fired because I received a flat tire-costing their new contract to buy a new tire, this per their own shift Sgt. If I hadn't left the State I would've blown the whistle at a state level.

I have worked here for a little over 2 months now and let me tell you what! You can grow very fast with this company! As long as you put the work forward the rewards will come back! Absolutely love the management and have always gotten feedback very fast! Also been treated as a friend and felt like i am listened too. When i need help with something there is a hand there to help me, even when i have made mistakes they were forgiving and instead of being shamed it was a learning opportunity! 15/10 would recommend working for these guys absolutely love them! They are all family and all awesome influences

I loved working at CBI to an extent. The Site I was stationed at for ~6 months was a very good opportunity for me to meet new and amazing people, the officers I worked with we're great. Not to say the company didn't have it's downfalls such as communication and false advertising which is fine, but when you communicate one thing and something entirely different happens it does make it a completely unpredictable experience from start to finish.
I was told a lot of things by management that didn't happen, but I also learned a lot of interesting things from the company. I ended up

CBI is the best security company to work for. Free training and classes from VERY experienced and professional trainers, amazing support and on-site training from supervisors, and multiple opportunities to learn and gain knowledge if you are looking at law enforcement or related fields.
Higher up management is also on point. They always answer my emails quickly and spend the time to talk and help with their employees ambitions and goals. The HR Manager is also great and does a fantastic job finding answers to any questions I have!

CBI is an awesome company that really has the family feel. I started with CBI back in 2006/2007 as a guard and a dispatcher. I loved every minute of it running the nights and weekend shift. I made so many close friendships and the job is easy as long as you paid attention to the training.They provide free training to all employees, and it's quality. The trainers are retired PD/SWAT, and military with a ton of real world experience and a ton of stories.
I left for ten years and came back in 2018. I love seeing the changes that the company is working on making. The Administration work exceptionally

I have worked for CBI since March this year and I love it. I started a job and found a family. I honestly don’t know what I would do without my CBI family. Cooper, Heather and Seth are absolutely amazing bosses. They have been amazing to work with. I have never had a job I love this much and coworkers and bosses I care so much about.

I have dealt with CBI multiple times over the years and I would say that for the most part their employees and management truly care about their customers and the general public. They strive to constantly maintain a professional behavior and much like with police so long as you are obeying commands and not causing problems you won't have any issues.
Every company has their bad eggs but with the new Administration team and the better support from their front line supervisors it has truly reshaped the company and made things much better for everyone involved.
