In 1942, Antonio Martini started a small contracting company in Pittsburgh, PA. Antonio, who had arrived in the United States in 1927, wanted to build a business in which he could take pride, and would support his growing family. As opportunities became more plentiful and Antonio's reputation grew, he decided to partner with his friend Gilbert Auel.
In 1951, they started A. Martini & Co. - A General Contracting Firm. The company's projects included shopping plazas, grocery stores, post offices, churches, and banks. There is a saying - 'Learn by example, ' That is what I did - I watched and learned from my father. When he gave his word, he meant it.
