Located fewer than 30 miles south of the Fargo-Moorhead area, Dakota Vines offers a unique, rural experience for wine enthusiasts and those interested in learning more about wine and winemaking. The winery is located across the river from an existing farm folk school and event center, Crooked Lane Farm Folk School and Event Center.
Services
Dakota Vines Vineyard and Winery is an agritourism business dedicated to producing high-quality North Dakota and regional cold climate grape and fruit wines. Opened in 2018, Dakota Vines offers visitors the opportunity to learn about new varietals of grapes that survive and thrive in cold climates, and sample/buy wine in a rural North Dakota setting.
More than just a wine club, the Vines Club earns you exclusive early bird privileges, discounts on wine, merchandise, and food in the tasting room, free tastings, invitations to our exclusive pick-up parties, and the opportunity to enjoy Dakota Vines wine year-round. Exclusive invitation for you and a guest to our pick-up parties with complimentary hors d'oeuvres.
You are allowed 30 minutes before the event for setup. Additional set up time and time spent in the venue after your scheduled ending time will be charged at the same hourly rate, rounded to the nearest half hour. Dakota Vines does have a commercial kitchen and a limited appetizer menu (including pizza) is available.
FARMLAND: Our semi-sweet Marechal Foch wine has a fruity nose and pronounced raspberry and cherry flavors. Serve it chilled right out of the bottle or try it warm with spices as a mulled wine on a chilly autumn day. Pairs well with sweet-sauced foods such as BBQ ribs or chicken wings, or any meat pizzas.
Festival (with dozens of local vendors/crafters, food truck, and beverage sales) begins at 11:00 AM with music starting at 11:30 PM. GRAPE STOMP COMPETITION - TEAMS OF TWO are invited to sign up for the competition. Team members must be of legal drinking age to participate in the stomp. The grape stomp competition will begin at 1:30PM (four teams will stomp at a time).

We stayed as a Harvest Host guest with our travel trailer. We were able to easily park and had shade in afternoon. This is a nice location and close to interstate. Bob and Deb and family were very nice. We had a great pizza for supper and would recommend a visit for wine, food, or just to get out to country.

Dakota Vines is just outside of Fargo's city limits, so it's easy to reach by car. I'd say the wine is up there as some of the best in the region (and state!) as well.
When you think North Dakota you probably don't think of wine, but you should.
The winery is beautiful. It's in the countryside, so it's quiet, and the building is gorgeous inside. They display local art on the walls, have a cozy fireplace, and the owners are friendly and helpful.
They use grape varieties that do well in the cold ND climate, so what they have is local and very good.
