A Reiki session helps people who are feeling physically sick, spiritually, emotionally, mentally or physically stuck, ungrounded, unfocused, uninspired, anxious, angry, worried, needing to make a big decision, or just wanting to give themselves a nice, relaxing, self-care experience. A session consists of the person lying on a massage table, fully clothed.
Reiki is a Japanese word whose literal translation is (rei) spiritual and (ki) energy, or spiritual energy. It is usually referred to here in the West as universal life force energy. It is the energy that is in every living-and non-living-thing. It is the energy that fuels our sun and turns our planet; it is the energy that grows our plants, divides cells, creates and sustains life.
Animals can benefit from a Reiki treatment if they are sick, seem lethargic or depressed, recently came from a shelter or from boarding, are exhibiting undesirable behaviors, or have experienced trauma in their lives. It is important to contact your veterinarian in addition to seeking Reiki treatments, as Reiki is a complimentary healing method.
You may feel physical sensations such as heat, tingling, or pulsation in various parts of your body, along with an overall feeling of groundedness or weightlessness. You may also experience a general sense of well being and love. At times, some emotional issues may arise. Reiki "jump-starts" your own healing process, so it goes where it needs to go.
With Joyce I have found a teacher that is a shining example of what a life that embraces the power of Reiki can look like. She truly lives, breaths and puts into practice Reiki. If you are curious or want to advance Reiki in your life then Joyce is the ideal teacher. I have taken three of her classes and expect to attend more in the future.
