Dan and Judy Garver purchased the Old Baltic Mill in 2013 and proceeded to renovate and convert it into a quaint boutique winery in the heart of Ohio's Amish Country. Recent visitors to the area may remember The Baltic Mill as a bulk food and gift shop, but older folks may recall the days it served it's original purpose - of grinding wheat into the mill's own Little Daisy flour, of which one of our signatures wine is named.

Upon entering the main seating and tasting room, visitor's will notice the many chutes and machinery that have been preserved from the early 20th Century. Walk upstairs, and you'll be transported to the past. The mill machinery remains the focal point of the second and third floors. The Flour Mill's steam engine still rests in the cellar where it was once used to power the milling process all those years ago.

Services
Baltic Mill Owner and Winemaker Dan Garver has spent almost his entire life in Tuscarawas County. A graduate of Indian Valley North High School, Dan went on to receive a BA in Biology from Muskingum College (University) and his MT(ASCP) from Southwest General Hospital School of Medical Technology.
Judy met Dan in the microbiology lab at Union Hospital many years ago. Originally from the Weirton, WV area, she came to Dover to intern in clinical laboratory technology -and never left the area. She is currently Senior Lab Tech at Trinity Hospital Twin City in Dennison, OH. It has been their long time dream to have a winery and a business together.
The winemaker, Dan Garver, has been producing wine for his family for nearly a decade. Upon perfecting the process, Dan and his wife Judy realized a dream of theirs was to own and operate their own winery. When the Baltic Mill came up for auction in 2013, the Garvers decided it was the perfect place to accommodate that vision.
We offer a Meat & Cheese Plate comprised of local favorites to complement our handcrafted wines. This delightful platter features Marble, Mild Swiss, Sharp White Cheddar from Pearl Valley Cheese, with pepperoni and salami from Baltic Country Meats. In addition, you will receive an apple or grapes and some crusty French bread.
The Baltic Mill started milling flour in the mid-1800's and at one time, was Ohio's largest flour mill using the newly built railroad to bring in grain and ship out flour and meal. In 1908 our building was quickly erected to replace the original 1850's frame building that was totally lost to a fire in 1907.

I can say the experience was not great, the staff was unaware where we could sit, the room we could sit was freezing. The pulled pork was good but the mold covered broccoli (that was $9 btw) ruined the mood. Not by the error of the mold on broccoli, but by the reaction of the staff. There wasn't even an apology or even an attempt to refund the ridiculously high priced "platter" of veggies.
Mistakes are made and we understand, but how you handle your mistakes matters @Baltic Mill winery.

Most local wineries just have so-so wine. Not Baltic Mill. Their dry reds are actually amazing, the Strawberry Blonde is an incredible blush wine and their sweet reds are also very good. Highly recommend the Blend No. 111 and the Strawberry Blonde. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. Overall a great place to hang out and sip great wine.

Nice place to visit on the Three River’s Wine Trail in southern Ohio. We decided to visit a couple of 8 wineries on the Trail. We were on our way home to Cleveland from Dayton area. One of the wineries on the trail was in Baltic, Ohio and an old flour mill. Cozy feel with all the original wood on the floors and the ceiling. We tried a flight so we could sample what they offered. We bought a couple bottles and enjoyed ourselves! Thanks

Wonderful atmosphere is an amazing and historical facility. Very comfortable and well appointed layout but somewhat limited on seating which is partially due to the pandemic. Staff is very attentive and well versed in their products.
The wines are somewhat typical for Ohio wineries (mainly sweet to semi sweet hence the 4.0 rather than 5.0) but they have pulled in some different varietals for more sophisticated, spicier and slightly drier tastes. Recommend this winery for a relaxing experience. Will definitely return.

Wish you had half stars ... very nice place, good atmosphere, waitress was pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. Wish there was a little more by way of food offerings, but the pizza place a couple doors down is good!

Great place to visit and relax with a bottle ofgreat wine. This is an actual grain mill and if you ask they will let you tour the upstairs part of the winery where the most of the mill is still intact. Roweville Red is a favorite. I highly recommend it!

This place is so cute inside. The brick walls and the lighting make a really nice ambiance. They have 10 wines to taste, which is a great number to not get overwhelmed with. The gentleman who helped us taste was very friendly and helpful! We would definitely go back.
