St John's Lutheran Preschool
The philosophy of Preschool is based upon our belief that a child has the right to a Christian environment that will enhance and encourage growth in all parts of a child's development process. These areas include the moral, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical aspects of each child. The staff shall meet these needs through our curriculum, daily lessons, and each child's individual learning and developmental needs.

On that day, class was held for 14 three year olds with two staff members. By the next school year, classes were added for two year olds and four year olds. We now offer preschool classes for Toddlers through pre-K with a staff of almost twenty and approximately 150 families. Classes begin after Labor Day and end the week before Memorial Day.
Services
At St. John's Lutheran Preschool, our mission consists of providing a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe. Our unique Preschool offers various activities that are specifically designed to encourage each child's growth. Through cooperative play and creative activities, kids reach their social, emotional and physical milestones naturally and with ease.
Closing of the school due to inclement weather or other natural emergencies will usually coincide with TV and radio announcements made for Springfield School District 186. Whenever these events occur within District 186, St. John's Preschool will also suspend operations. Before the start of each school year, a Parent Information Night is held.
We feel that part of a child's Christian education should include teaching children to reach out to others in need. For that reason, we organize a monthly mission outreach for our families. Watch here for what we are doing and how you can help. We will also tell you about the success of each mission.
