The 'baby boom' generation is aging. In 2009, people over 65 represented 12.9% of the population, but by 2030, they will be 19.3%. From the Administration on Aging, the number of Americans over 65 is expected to double between 2008 and 2030, to around 72 million. The figure (bottom) displays the American population by age and sex in 2012, and the forecast population in 2035, and 2060.
NIHL is related to both noise intensity and the duration of noise exposure. Simply put, the louder the sound, the shorter the time before damage occurs.and the relationship isn't linear! Here's an important take-away: NIHL is irreversible and your natural hearing cannot be restored by medicine, surgery, or hearing aids.
If you have severe or profound hearing loss, traditional hearing aids might not help you hear well enough to communicate, but there is another option. Hubby made our appointments due to doing there online hearing test. What was expected we both had a moderate hearing loss. Christy ( awesome) the front office lady had told us there booked out but my hubby explained our insurance was changing on Oct. 1st. She was able to squeeze us both in before then. We both saw Dr. Woody for the hearing test and she was amazing. Then we get in to go back to try the hearing aids we were going to purchase and I had Dr. Winkler. Who also was amazing and great at explaining everything. My husband saw Dr. Woody for the hearing aid fitting and he said she was awesome

Very thorough and highly individualized treatment from start to finish. All of my technical questions were answered in detail without any pressure or rush. My Widex hearing aids were fitted and programmed to my personal preferences and needs. I am 100% satisfied and highly recommend Dr. Winkler at Pacific Northwest Audiology to anyone that is the least bit tentative about seeking hearing assistance.

I was referred to PNW Audiology by a friend after another audiological provider negligently handled my insurance billing costing me $1,000 in coverage and reimbursement. My ENT at that provider is excellent, as was the Hearing Instrument Specialist, but the billing office was horrible. They insisted I pay the entire cost up front then failed to timely submit the billing so I could recoup my deductible. The billing manager claimed the hearing Instrument specialist, who had left at that point, never gave her the billing. Several days later I learned that the billing office had simply never submitted

The best decision I've made in a long time. The doctors and staff are friendly and most knowledgeable.

We were really happy here at first, as you can see in my original review.
Dr. Li is fantastic, and her staff are absolutely wonderful...for as long as they last.
In the 3 years we were at the practice (visiting every 3 months or so to get new ear molds for the growing kiddo), there has been an alarming turnover rate in the staff.
Not only was this difficult for my kid to see a new doctor or tech practically every time we visited, it meant that the continuity with the front office staff was not there. We couldn't build relationships; the new person wouldn't know our history or my

If I could go higher than 5 stars for this review I would do so. When my Lyric hearing aid died while I was visiting Bend, OR fortunately I found dr. Li. Since I was not her regular patient, she was not obligated to do anything but replace the device and send me on my way. However that is not how dr. Li operates. She was thorough and caring and provided service above and beyond what I expected. Additionally she is an M.D. as well as an audiologist, so she was able to take care of related issues as well. If we didn't live so far away, I would definitely choose to come here for my hearing issues

Having met Dr. Li initially at the Bend Outdoor Home Tour (late September, 2013) we were impressed with her degree of understanding, education and professional acumen. My initial consultation only further confirmed that at my later appointment. At the end of a day (5:30) she took as long as was needed to properly and completely explain my unusual circumstance and results from my hearing test (complimentary, by the way).
