We are a full-service title company based in Portland with the ability to perform title and closing services throughout Maine and New Hampshire. Our core business is conducting real estate escrow and settlement services and issuing title insurance policies for transactions involving residential and commercial properties of all types.
I wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my recent refinance with Bay Area Title. Not only was my experience a pleasant one, my mother-in-law also refinanced and received similar attention. Lesley made our closings easy and uncomplicated. Thank you for such professional service on a simple business transaction with complex buyers and sellers.

Stay away if any party to the transaction is from out of town. They seem to be flummoxed by transactions involving trusts or out of town buyers as Sue, the President, complained about both to me.
I found Bay Area to be uncommunicative and rude. On the day of our closing I sent two e-mails and a voice message requesting a status update. After receiving no replies, at 4:48 PM (the office closes at 5 PM) I finally got through to Sue, the President. When I voiced my displeasure at her lack of communication, she scolded me and told me she didn't respond because she was BUSY WITH CLOSINGS. Yep, never

We used Bay Area (started to use) to do title search for a land purchase.
They barely communicated with us until about 2 days before closing they said there was an issue.
They said they were a bit busy but all they needed to do was to send a letter to the town to clear something up.
Well, two weeks later and no communication from them, we tried getting in touch. It took two days before we were told by Sue that she was busy and didn't even send the letter yet ! ! ! ! !
She said they were just too busy and we should just go somewhere else ! ! ! ! Really?
They could have told us this
