We have educational displays that show our crias (baby alpacas) the day they were born; interesting and unusual characteristics; the differences between alpacas and llamas; how their fiber goes from shearing to yarn; and what they look like before and after shearing. All our tours end in our gift shop so you can see things made from their wonderful fiber.

Services
We have a special section for items made from our own animals' fiber, such as hats, scarves and purses. Each item was handcrafted at our farm and comes with a small picture of the alpaca and/or llama whose fiber went into the handcrafted item. They make truly unique gifts for yourself or someone else.
We are now offering a sponsorship program designed for people who love alpacas and/or llamas and want to feel a close connection to one of these special creatures, even if they can't own them.
All you have to do is (1) Pick a sponsorship level; (2) Pick the alpaca or llama you want to sponsor (you can see all our animals under 'Photos' and the photo albums labeled 'Sponsorship - Alpacas' and 'Sponsorship - Llamas'); (3) Print out the following Sponsorship Form and mail it to us along with your check for the sponsorship amount, or indicate on the form that you would like us to invoice you through PayPal.

A good friend of ours, Barbara Page, wrote an article about our retirement dream to raise alpacas. The editor of the magazine, Robin Hoffman, kindly provided us with a PDF of the article so we could post it on our website. If you are familiar with our alpacas, that is Esme on the first page, after being sheared.

Please support Alpaca Dreams! Until I went, I don't think I truly understood how amazing alpacas were. Really, you are not gunna want to miss this. People have heard of this place all along the east coast. Let's all make sure we really support this place! Everyone can help out, all you need to do is stop by. Very cool. Amazing, really. Nothing's better.

What a visit. Answered all of our ignorant questions. Took the time to show us all around. Got to pet a few and feed them. Working farm. Nothing crazy just very cool animals in a peaceful environment. Well worth the trip. Gift shop with all kinds of alpaca hair accessories. Socks, beanies, etc. Thank you Mike and Sarah! See you again soon.

Alpaca Dreams is one of Louisburg's hidden gems. It is run by Mike and Sarah who will let you make an appointment and come visit their farm with many alpacas and guard llamas. You can tell how well cared for these animals are and how loved they are by Sarah and Mike.
They are very kind and welcoming to guests and also share their knowledge about these animals so you can learn a little something too!
The alpacas are separated by gender so there is an area for the boys and another for the girls. One of my visits I got to feed the girls some carrots. I enjoyed that a lot as interacting with
