If you have curly hair, I 100% recommend this place!! I’ve always struggled with finding a hair salon that knew what they were doing with my curls. But I promise you that you will be leaving this salon so renewed and confident! Julie did my hair and she was absolutely amazing a so sweet. I asked for layers and texture for my hair and Julie gave me exactly that but even better. :) They gave me advice on how to take care of my curls and even recommend the curl manifesto curl line to me!! It changed my curl game for sure.

I have been going to this location for the past 6 months. The location was great for me. I enjoyed the young lady who provided my service. I would schedule my next appointment when I check out. I had a 6 week appointment scheduled. I confirmed it the day prior and received a follow up text that there was a schedule conflict and I needed to come in later. I called because I was unable to come in later. I was informed that another customer's service would take longer and I could have someone else do it or I could come another day. My husband and I booked a couples massage while on our honeymoon. Wow did the experience at this spa live up to the word nirvana! Upon entering this oasis you immediately relax and leave your worries and thoughts behind as you walk down the hallway to the spa. From the sounds to the sights of this original Charleston carriage house you are taken to another wonderful place. Christie was my therapist and is perhaps one of the greatest. One hour with Christie was better than a day at the Woodhouse.

My fiancée and I have both gotten amazing massages here and we thought we enjoyed it but I booked a hair appointment for a Saturday, I received text messages about my hair cut and was told what I wanted wasn’t the same appointment I booked. I would’ve preferred a phone call to explain why the appointment is considered different but fine. Best salon experience I've had in a while! Jenna Marsey is a true master of her craft - color, cut, and blowout - absolutely amazing! Entire staff was very friendly and personable! I had an amazing massage with Karen today! Not only was she wonderful and highly skilled but she left me better than when I walked in. I have suffered with neck pain for a long time and left pain free today! She even made my headache go away. She listened to my concerns and made me feel comfortable and relaxed! I had a wonderful experience with having my hair cut & colored (balayage) with Ty. He was extremely attention-detailed, thorough and caring about his work. Ty also was very personable, helpful & easy to be around. The combination of the passion for his work & clients was evident in the great work he's done! The salon itself was very clean & comfortable and the front desk staff was friendly. All in all, it is worth every bit of the 5-star rating!

I cannot recommend this place enough! Ty is absolutely fabulous! I immediately felt comfortable with him and, after a short conversation about my lifestyle and hair history, felt totally confident to trust his decisions about what to do with my hair. I left extremely pleased and just returned today (TEN WEEKS later) for maintenance on my color.
Amber is also spectacular and worked her magic on my brows.

Visiting Charleston from Seattle, we might not have found this place without help from a local relative. Fantastic massage. I would request Jennifer again but my husband's therapist was Tammy and he said she was equally as excellent. Clean and professional without sacrificing a lovely ambiance. Pretty Bad customer service. First time I went to this salon was just to cover my roots. I had moved from Miami to Charleston and needed to find a stylist to help me out. I was platinum blonde and only needed to cover my roots which were light brown. After my consultation, I finally went to my appointment.. This is my first time coming here and it was very pleasant visit. I had an hour massage the gentleman that gave me the massage was professional and gave me one of the best experience at spa ever. The changing area was clean and with a Secure locker for my clothing I started feeling relaxed then I moved into the waiting area where they had cold cold iced water with oranges in it and another pitcher with a different fruit in It but I don't remember what it was. Within minutes of posting my review Jen called to genuinely express her appreciation of my long-standing relationship with Urban Nirvana and see if she could make amends . Urban Nirvana is my favorite spa in Charleston.
I came in today for a 60-minute integrated massage ($90) with the LMT Melanie who was fantastic.
The renovations they've made to their facilities really paid off, as I love the new locker room area with electronic locks, spacious bathrooms, and a well-lit shower. The waiting room is calming with infused water and plenty of seating.

Ahh who doesn't love a spa day at Urban Nirvana? I have been coming to this location since I was in high school, and they've always been on point! I recently was home visiting my mom for the weekend. We set up appointments for 60 minute massages, and it was exactly what I needed to de stress and relax!
I love the ambiance here. You walk in to a trendy spa and gift shop, but if you have a spa appointment, they take you into the back where it is dark, but modern and tranquil. Their changing room is equipped with robes and shoes, and they have really nice lockers to keep your stuff secure
