In 1990, I was just out of high school and working for a glass company in Malibu, California. I had an opportunity to move to San Diego and partner with another North County San Diego glass company. I went to contractor's school to learn the legal aspects of the glazing industry, as I had already learned the trade, and received my Glazing Contractors License in 1993.
I always loved working the trade and felt like I had found a niche. I'm not sure, unless it's a family business, that anyone starts out saying they want to be in the window business. At one time I wanted to be an aircraft pilot, but I also wanted to own a business, so I guess you could say I was always looking to the future.

The disgruntled employee did not walk off the job. He was forced to quit after his boss texted his brother saying "if you don't go caulk these windows you are quitting". Then continued to claim "you are not a doctor you won't make more money" "glaziers cap at $20" "I know you don't understand what a bonus is". All of this, and more, was said after a response saying we do not feel comfortable doing this job without my injured dad who has worked there for over 20 years (with no benefits, steady wage, retirement) could not go with us. We love Advanced Windows and will continue to give them out business for the remaining windows we have on our home. Carl and Holly always do their best to make sure we are happy with the end product. The installations by Vincent and RJ was wonderful. They were polite, respectful and did a great job with the installation. We purchased a home in Valley Center a few years back with Milgard windows. They are only 1-15 years old, but are very hard to open and one of the brackets broke completely. Milgard referred us to Advanced Window. They were very friendly, walked me through the process so I could buy the parts and fix it myself. Also, gave me a quote if I would rather have them come out and do it. We have fixed our window and couldn't be happier. If we ever need to have them replaced or are in need of more windows, this will be my place. Their quote was very reasonable.

I am so thankful Advanced window came to the rescue for me and my family! They are by far the best window company. Holly and Alicia were so helpful and was able to get the best price for our family with a quality window that has a great warranty. The installers Sergio and Will were great they showed up early and were efficient and made the job seamless!!! I will be using them in the future and will recommend them to everyone!!! Our 45 year old windows were leaving us hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Karl was very helpful when he was taking measurements, and gave us recommendations. We chose Plygem windows and are happy with how well they look on our old home. Unfortunately Plygem made two of the windows incorrectly, which luckily was spotted by Sergio, our installer, before he took out the old window. But it did cause the project to drag out another three weeks. Their work LOOKS nice but the quality is lacking. I have had my windows and doors since Feb. 2016 and so far all the screen doors have broken. The materials are super cheap. The locks on the windows constantly break which means I can't open or close the windows depending on what position they are in when the window breaks. Do yourself a favor and shop around.

A very nice couple working hard to build a good neighborhood company. Love speaking to them on the phone, good demeanor and always ready to help. They sold and installed double-pane windows and sliders for my entire house. Excellent quality and only had to come once to install everything. Anytime I have a question they are on it immediately.

Our screen door got trashed after someone walked thru it 3 times.. (it was funny the 1st time-- the 2nd and 3rd.. not so much) Alicia told me she could get me replacement parts if I ever needed her services.. She helped me find the "code" number plate located inbetween the glass panels and this gave her the correct measurements of the replacement screen door for a perfect fit. Super quick turn around! Super good people to work with!

When I first moved in back in 2001 my townhouse was hot and noisy. Living next to a busy street I was woken up by car noise in the morning and my binge movie watching was occasionally interrupted by sirens. When I got home from work I was greeted by an inferno as my glass patio door was west facing. After doing research I decided to replace the crappy single pane glass doors and windows with new energy efficient dual pane low E glass. I got quotes from a few companies and settled on Advanced Window Contractors as the owner Carl gave me a real good price and he was a nice smart guy I thought

They did a good job installing the windows and doors but did a number on my blinds. Several slats were broken and had to be replaced (by me). My advice would be to remove window coverings yourself or closely supervise them when they take them down and put them back up. They did return to fix a few glitches: a security door that needed bolting down, a leaky sliding glass door edge that needed re-sealing and a nicked paint spot.

Nice quality, good price and very nice owners. I've used Advanced Window twice, for two different houses and both jobs turned out great and were priced very reasonably considering all windows were custom sizes. I've noticed a big difference in both comfort and heating bills since getting new windows. No complaints other than the windows took much longer to be delivered than originally estimated, both times. I'd still use them a third time for sure, but would anticipate a longer delivery time than quoted.

1 star for the plygem window product that Advanced Windows carries. Otherwise, I can't say enough to stay away from this devious business. The crew was rude, never once introduced themselves to us, they trekked mud through the house and made no attempt to clean before they left, bunched a rug into a corner because apparently it was in their way, they chipped one of the bathtubs but their team said they didn't so that was that, chipped the dry wall above the window (must have been there too!). We were having them install two large bedroom windows, 2 small bathroom windows, 1 static
