The Yoga Community
Yoga Community makes yoga accessible regardless of age, size, mobility, injury, or fitness level and has been offering yoga to the Tri-Cities community since 2003. We are dedicated to teaching yoga that honors the traditional practices while recognizing the diversity in different lineages. Learn more about our history and mission in our blog.

We make yoga accessible regardless of age, size, mobility, injury, fitness level, and finances. Our welcoming entry features a beautiful mural of the symbol for Om. Off the entry, you'll find our studio space, which will accommodate up to 20 students. Our studio is stocked with all the necessary props to support your practice (mats, blankets, bolsters, yoga straps, chairs, blocks, and foam rollers).
Services
Series classes progress each week, building upon the knowledge and skills learned the prior week(s). Preregistration is required and drop-ins are not allowed unless specifically indicated in the class description. Series classes require a minimum of 6 students preregistered and prepaid to confirm the class one week prior.
These classes are very similar to our in-studio or Zoom classes, but you get to decide who is attending with you. Invite friends and family already in your exposure group to enjoy a yoga class scheduled just for you! Relax: Decrease stress and anxiety through gentle movement, breath work, restorative poses and meditation.
We accept cash, check and debit/credit cards. You may pay online from our Schedules page, the MindBody website, MindBody app or in person at the studio. If paying at the studio, please arrive early to pay before class. Our scholarship program offers up to a 50% discount on classes and is funded by our students, FOR our students.
At Yoga Community, all of our instructors must demonstrate a passion for their chosen practice, have professional training and be committed to a path of inquiry and self-study.

A minimum of 200 hours of training is required for our instructors and most have significantly more, including specialty training certifications in Trauma-Informed Yoga, Yoga for Scoliosis, Ayurveda, etc. Yoga Community's body of instructors includes five with over 10 years of teaching experience, three 500-hr certified instructors, as well as two Doctors of Physical Therapy.
Rasayana School of Yoga focuses on balancing all eight limbs of the practice of yoga - starting with a mindful, alignment-based approach to asana that takes into account modifications for injury and illness. Meditation, pranayama and the study of yoga philosophies are incorporated into a curriculum that will provide a well-rounded introduction to the art of teaching yoga.

The Yoga Community truly is a community. It’s a safe space where you can commit to your own self-care. The teachers are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. You can progress at your own pace through in-studio instruction or Zoom classes. It’s one of my favorite places in the Tri-Cities!

The Yoga Community is a gem!! They are one of the most authentic yoga studios I have ever been to. They have great classes for all levels. I am a physical therapist and experienced yogi and did their 200-hr teacher training which was brilliant. I love that they incorporate yoga philosophy and Ayurveda in the training and many of the classes. Heather, the owner, is intelligent, compassionate, calming, and will make you feel at home. The Tri-Cities is lucky to have this place!

Due to no fault of hers, I was only able to make it to one of Heather's classes. She was warm, welcoming, and encouraging to us all (including this newbie sorta klutz). The class size was intimate and there was a great deal of smiling from participants, a testimony to Heather's teaching style. If you want a gracious, knowledgeable instructor, I recommend Heather highly!

I have always enjoyed the classes I’ve taken at Yoga Community. The space is clean & welcoming. Heather is an amazing teacher, I have learned so much by being a part of their advanced teacher training modules. More importantly, I always come away with a true sense of yoga after partaking in class.

I know the owner to be a person of great integrity.
Unfortunately our region has been targeted by hackers that demand ransoms to retrieve their computers and phone numbers.
It happened to my pool supply store and to my dentist TWICE!
Something similar to this type of fraud is what happened to the Yoga Community unfortunately. So, please consider relevant reviews but not those having to do with phone scams. Yoga Community was victimized too. They are a solid business in our community and they've always had my respect.,

I have been to dozens of yoga classes locally and while on vacations, this includes the mass general classes in gyms and private classes on tropical beaches, (pre Covid). I became involved with yoga community because of the energy, effort, the overall commitment to give students a safe, quality experience. The studio has survived when so many others have come and gone. Yoga community is not about the latest new trends, it's geared for people wanting to learn and grow and find a place to practice yoga with other like minded people. If you want to explore yoga, this is the Tri Cities best place to

I have known Heather, the owner of The Yoga Community since 2015, and graduated from her Rasayana School of Yoga's 200 hour alignment based instructor program in 2017. I have also had several Jyotish (Vedic astrology) readings from Heather and multiple other intuitive readings. To date, I have never met anyone more knowledgeable in yoga alignment or philosophy than Heather, and she is excellent at teaching her complex knowledge in practical ways to all levels. She is one of the most grounded intuitive people I have ever met and merely being in Heather's presence will benefit you energetically and

Wonderful instructors who are very intuitive as to who is in the class and what they may need or want. All staff is so easy to work with and communicate with. The studio has a relaxed vibe which makes it easy to go to as a newcomer. I highly recommend this Yoga Community.
