The owner Mike needs to retire. His word is no good. When a mans word is no good it’s it’s time to stop dealing with the public. He told me to take the bike home and ride it. If I didn’t like it to bring it back. When I brought the bike back he implied that I was a liar and told me that he would never have said that. Guess nowadays things need to be in writing.

I brought my bike here for a tune-up, telling the person I dropped it off that one of the gears seemed to be skipping a tooth every once in a while, and asked that they take a look at my drive train to see if anything needed adjusting. They said the tune up would cost $100. When I returned to pick up the bike, they told me they changed the brakes, which cost and additional $30. We had an excellent experience from shopping through purchase at Bloomfield Bicycle this fall. Kevin was so helpful along the way after we went by to test ride e-bikes for the first time. We bought a Maui e-bike with a Swagman 2-bike folding rack for our SUV. We knew very little about e-bikes before we visited them to shop, learn about batteries, maintenance, etc. Their customer service was essential in the investment. First off I like to support local bike shops, but also wanted to share my experience with Bloomfield Bicycle & Repair shop, specially their repairs.
I needed some handlebars wrapped on two of my bikes and also inquired about some new parts for one.
Initially, I called ahead of time asking for an estimate on wrapping one set of bars, which was quoted at $13-30, however in person I was told $60 each. Expecting to pay that for both I decided to take my second bike to a competing shop, REI and do a quick comparison of each store.
Out the door, wrap on bars: REI - $18.19 and Bloomfield - $69.13.

I've had a "box-store" cheap bike for a while, but was looking for something that would allow me to ride the bike trails more comfortably. I went in looking for a very specific kind of bike. They had a couple to look at, and I ended up buying one. WAY more expensive than I had any intention of spending, but how do you tell a kid that you're not buying after they thank you for getting it for them? Ugh.
Bike wasn't set up quite right so it went back. Got it back and had a couple of quirky issues. Called them, sent photos, tried to figure out how to deal. They said try it again and let us know, so I did. By the time another 5 miles was logged on the bike and the problem arose again, it was the next year. They say

I brought in my Trek bike that I had purchased at another store to be tuned up for the season and had a great experience with the customer service and repair technicians who worked on my bike. I hadn't ridden the bike in years and it's now riding great. I really appreciated the friendly nature of the folks working there and their help loading/unloading my bike from my jeep. The folks at Bloomfield Bike are doing it right! My son has grown out of two bicycles which we have turned in to Bloomfield Bike. Within a few short months they had sold the bikes and given us a smart check. We have also purchased three used bikes from them. They always seem to have just what we are looking for in their used stock to help keep the prices down. We love our two vintage beach cruisers, with perfect baskets installed while I waited! My wife was looking for an ebike with a short frame that she could ride. Most ebikes are designed for persons 5'2 and over. We scheduled an appointment with Kevin and the next day we took the two hour drive to the store. All I can say is DO NOT come to this bike shop. The owner is a con-man to say the least. I explained to him the kind of bike that I wanted and that I was new to bike shopping and I wanted a nice e-bike for commuting. He then proceeded to try to sell me the only floor model that was there. When I asked for another model that I had researched, he dismissed that option and kept gearing me toward that one.

This is one of the worst experiences that I've had in a decade. Do not buy an E-bike from this store. I talked to Mike Wolf, the owner of Bloomfield bike and repair about purchasing an E-Bike from his shop. He touted his 53 years in business, stellar reputation, and his customer-centric business philosophy. The guy was a complete hypocrite and when there was a problem with my purchase he was nowhere to be found. I believe this guy's sincerity and never tried the bike before making the 5-hour trip home.
