We've been a team since we fell in love in dental school over 13 years ago, and along with our four children, we hope you'll join our dental family! Thank you for allowing us to introduce the Adventure Kids Dental family; we hope we'll get to learn all about you and your kids soon. Our practice's focus is on family, and we operate on three pillars: Compassion, Consistency, and Communication. Dr. Jeff McComb was born and raised in Merced, CA (Central Valley).

If you're familiar with us and our three pillars (Compassion, Consistency, Communication), you know we like to take our mission on the road-often all the way to the Philippines! We practice loving our neighbors (near and far) as we love ourselves. Jeff and Candy McComb took their first dental mission trip together to Candy's country of birth in 2006.
Preventive dentistry refers to the measures taken by a dentist to diagnose and maintain a patient's dental health such as digital x-rays, cleanings, fluoride, sealants, and oral cancer screenings. At Adventure Kids Dental, we're a family-focused practice that emphasizes prevention, because it's a lot easier to learn, play, speak, and enjoy food and beverages when your teeth and gums are pain-free.
At Adventure Kids Dental, we understand cavities and accidents can happen, even when your child is trying their hardest to get into the nooks and crannies between tiny teeth with floss and toothbrush bristles. Cavities, caries, and tooth decay are words used interchangeably to describe the process of enamel erosion that results in the loss of healthy tooth structure.

Brought my 3 year old here for her very first dental appointment and I couldn’t be happier with our experience. Everyone was so friendly and made it such a stress free visit (for this Mama anyway). My daughter went from being enthusiastic to visit to refusing to open her mouth, but the staff were patient and showed her all of the equipment and what it does. Glad I found such a great place and can’t wait to visit again in the future.

My son has never had X-rays. He’s severely autistic. I took him and they knew beforehand what my goal was and how hard it would be.
They didn’t sweat it at all. The dentist and his assistant Emily were awesome. I couldn’t believe that we actually got the X-rays. They have this wireless unit that makes taking an X-ray so easy. No setting it, leaving the room, hitting a button and coming back in. It was as easy as taking a picture with your phone.
They also gave us a private room. It’s decorated so cute. The staff is way friendly. The vibe is great. Highly recommend.

AMAZING Office, Staff, and Doctors!! We drive an hour to take our kids here because it’s absolutely worth it! My son is 19 months and we were dreading his first dentist visit, but as you can see he was very relaxed haha. The staff is gentle, kind, and really great at catering to each kids specific needs to make sure they are comfortable and have a good experience. The only dentist we trust with our kids!

So grateful for being referred to Adventure Kids Dental. My 7 year old is neuro divergent and has become more challenging with Dr and DDS visits. Everyone was so welcoming, kind and patient with my girl. Even through her resistance, her compliance was eventually worked out. Cannot express enough gratitude for the positive experience which will ease my daughter’s future resistance.

My children have been patients of Dr. McComb and Dr. Candy for over a 1.5 years now and we all love the office and doctors so much. They’re friendly, attentive, and provide such great care. I’m super thankful we found this office! They’re incredibly kind and offered fantastic treatment options for my youngest son’s mouth. We have known he was full of cavities for a year, but he was traumatized and we finally found this office and I can just sing the praises of gratefulness and relief. We laid out a plan, but Dad didn’t agree and we found a new and better plan. I feel so much relief and appreciate their flexibility and offered options. All the staff has been amicable and beyond kind. We look forward to the dentist now! **Thankful**

The staff was amazing. All staff (administrators, dental assistants, and dentists) used age-appropriate engagement to support my little with a successful visit. My son is two and this was our third preventive check up for him. The staff is so patient and understanding of kid’s age appropriate behavior. The assistant Casey was awesome! She really included my son in the process and he was comfortable every step of the way! Dr. McComb is thorough and makes sure he addresses all questions and concerns with you directly. Front office staff is prompt and friendly.
