Bowden’s was so helpful when our older gas fireplace stopped working. They’re one of the few places that service gas fireplaces. I was worried they’d try to sell us a new fireplace since ours was so old, but that wasn’t the case. I was able to schedule an appointment, and even though they dealt with staffing issues (like most of the world right now), they rescheduled quickly and easily and let me know of any changes right away. The service people were very quick and polite and helpful. They fixed the issue and let us know when our next service should be and what to keep an eye out for.

We ordered a gas fire log in October 2021. These folks did everything right, assisted us through the permit process in a municipality known for being difficult, and delivered us a beautiful fireplace in a very timely fashion. Sure - there are supply chain difficulties that might make this a slower process than you’d like. But we could not be happier to have used this wonderful small business to enhance our home and our evenings. Love them!

We used Bowden's to install a gas log into our wood burning fireplace. We were tired of the cleanup after a fire and the smell that lingered. A gas log was a great solution to solve these issues.
With the exception of waiting for the log (which was no fault of Bowden's, but due to Covid delays) it went smoothly. Andy was very professional and informative. Installation was a breeze. We are very happy we chose Bowden's and we absolutely love our "new" fireplace with just a press on the remote.

Bowden’s took my fireplace inspection report and gave me honest feedback on the work the was required. They did not try to up-sell me on unnecessary work. The owner called me personally to advise on what I should do and what would make my home and family safe and comfortable for the winter months. I ended up purchasing new firebox doors and a cleaning and could not be happier with the installers and price. Great people, great products, and honest service. Happy to recommend them to others.

I had Bowden's out to sweep my three chimneys. Very professional and did a good job. I have contracted them to install a wood stove and it is on its way (supply chain issues). I found them through excellent personal recommendations. They are a small business and are very attentive to their customer's needs. They have been a local business in the Mercer area for many years and have an outstanding reputation. I can see why.

I'm unsure as to some of the comments on this listing as my experience with Bowdens was nothing short of amazing. From the first time Tom came out a year ago when I received disturbing news from another local fireplace company that my chimney was pulling away from the house and needed to be replaced from the ground up. He came out promptly to inspect the chimney and cleared my worries as NOTHING was wrong with the chimney and was absolutely fine the way it was. That was a quick savings of a few thousand dollars. Fast forward a year and they were the first ones we called when we were ready

If you are in need of anything Fireplace Bowden's is the place to go! Their staff is very friendly, efficient and they answer all of your questions up front. They take their time to make sure you understand everything before they even start the work. They are always on time and VERY neat. The owner will reach out to you personally to make sure your needs are being met and to follow up after the job is compete. Customer Service is their #1 priority. I would never go anywhere else and I make sure all of my friends and family use them as well!!

Think twice. We had work done by them in the past and had no question about having them convert our wood to gas fireplace. Ten feet of gas line is free, what they didn't mention is that our current gas line was maxed out. $1500 extra, to run an entire new gas line. Then, they said our chase cover and cap won't work. Long story and 3 months later our $2500 budget became $6000. I would NEVER recommend them for anything. The funny thing is, the owner sends out emails asking for feedback after each job and ignores every comment. Please stop sending the emails.

Schedule an appointment with them for my chimney to be cleaned, didn't show up in time frame then called 30 mins past our appointment timeframe and said we will still come in a hour or so, then called back and cancelled trying to say, "I know its getting late now so I'm sure you rather reschedule" no I was available all day. Called me back that night and explained they would call and get me in the next available. No one ever follow up, or called to reschedule. Zero custom service....thanks for wasting a whole PTO day for nothing Bowdens.

I called Bowden's because we were having difficulty relighting the pilot light on our gas fireplace. The technician fiddled with the unit for about 30 seconds and relit the pilot light. He showed me the correct way to light it (which of course, I had not used). He did not charge me for the service call and I had never used them before nor had they installed the unit. I will, however, call them the next time.

I live right around the corner from Bowdens. We've had some trouble with our fireplace this past winter so we had some guys from Bowdens come by to check everything out. They gave us a bunch of options, worked with us, and showed us a ton of ways we could get everything we wanted without having to break the bank.
Great people, and pretty great results. Really nothing to complain about at all. Check 'em out!
