Polar Bear Chimney Sweep was started in 1985 by my father. I grew up helping him by installing fireplaces and stoves. He has since passed the company to me. Our number one priority to this day is still to make sure our customers have a safe fireplace and/or stove to heat their home. Over time, chimneys may become clogged with creosote, a by-product of burning wood.

This builds up over time and leaves a highly combustible creosote on the inside of the chimney. Creosote build up is often caused by poor air supply, so your regular chimney cleaning helps to prevent creosote formation as well. After a while lint can build up and become a fire hazard, It doesn't all get caught by the lint trap.
