In 1944, Lawrence Munkel, a home builder in Northeast Iowa, began a rich and deep tradition of customizing projects by providing hand built cabinetry. His son, Steve, soon joined the family business and expanded the tradition by establishing a small custom cabinetry and wood working shop in Decorah, IA In order to expand product selection, Cabinet Concepts opened its doors in 1990.
