The connections people have with friends, family and loved ones are some of the most important aspects in life. That's why it is so important not to let a hearing loss, tinnitus, or a sound sensitivity issue interfere with relationships. For 29 years, Dr. Kelly Dyson has been helping people hear better.

In that time, she has battled her own ear issues, from perforated eardrums to tinnitus. A lifelong sufferer of tinnitus, she decided to open a practice so that those with tinnitus could have a place to go for help managing their symptoms. After studying with some of the leading names in tinnitus research, she is ready to share her personal and professional experience with you.
Services
Hyperacusis and misophonia are sound sensitivity disorders that are not easily understood by the medical community. Unfortunately, this means those who suffer from these conditions can have their lives hampered, with little possibility of a solution or cure. As specialists in these disorders, we're ready to help those in need.
There are several sound sensitivity disorders that can afflict an individual. At this clinic, we provide treatment for the three main types: Misophonia, Hyperacusis, and Recruitment. Misophonia is an emotional reaction, typically, to soft sounds. When an individual hears certain sounds, (chewing, sniffing, fingernails tapping a keyboard) a powerful emotional reaction, commonly anger, ensues.
Tinnitus is typically defined as ringing of the ears, but may contain other sounds, such as clicking, roaring, whooshing, or buzzing. These symptoms can be heard in one or both ears, in your head, or outside your head. Some people will hear several sounds, and may hear differences in pitch and loudness.
Having your hearing examined regularly is an important part of your total health. One of our core services at Suncoast Audiology is taking a comprehensive hearing test. Our hearing tests combine a hearing health consultation, a non-intrusive physical exam and a test of your hearing abilities.

Your hearing test forms the foundation of addressing any problems you may be experiencing with your hearing, from hearing loss to lesser understood disorders like hyperacusis and misophonia.A hearing test is the first diagnostic step to addressing any problems or changes you experience with your hearing.
It is easy to be overwhelmed by the large variety of hearing devices on the market. We will recommend the best type for you based on hearing loss, aesthetics, lifestyle needs and budget. The Invisible-in-the-Canal device is placed deeper into the ear canal than other styles, making it nearly invisible.

I visited Dr Dyson on December nineteenth. As soon as I walked into the office I felt confident. Julie, at the front desk and Dr Dyson greeted me warmly. My evaluation visit, was quite extensive. I feel that Dr Dyson is very knowlegeable and experienced in her profession. She performed several tests and kept me well informed. She Helped me make informed decisions. Kalli, the office manager helped me with my insurance and discovered benefits I didn't know I had. I am looking forward to trading in my Demo hearing aids for my new ones, when they arrive.
