Northland Cold Storage, Inc. was founded as Northland Terminal & Storage in 1957. Alvin Pokel Sr. operated an ice and coal delivery business in Plymouth, WI in the 1940's. With the advent of commercial ice making machines and the refrigerator replacing the standard ice boxes, Al had to find a new use for his storage buildings.
From basic storage and shipping services to total logistics management and mail order frozen fulfillment, Nebraska Cold Storage offers a variety of integrated services. The Greater Green Bay Chamber are the champions of business development for Greater Green Bay because strong business builds a strong community.
At Northland Cold Storage we handle millions of pounds of food products every week, yet in our own community, people go hungry. That's why year after year we donate both storage space and our services to charitable food pantries serving our communities. In 2004 Northland Cold Storage was recognized with a national award presented by the Salvation Army for our efforts.
Companies with a focus on lean manufacturing rely heavily on their vendors to deliver raw materials and supplies on a just-in-time schedule. That's were Northland Cold Storage's vendor managed inventory programs come in.
With frequent changes in production schedules, Northland Cold Storage is relied upon to pick and ship a multitude of products from numerous vendors' inventories to one manufacturing or processing facility within only hours of the request from the production floor.

There are differences at each cold storage facility. At most facilities, shipping and receiving is done simultaneously between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments are typically required for all deliveries and shipments. Scheduled receipts and shipments will be given priority treatment versus unscheduled.

It's my second time to delivered truck load to this place ( Super Value cold storage)
Friendly staff and reasonable lumper's fee, despite the door waiting and unloading time
Small parking, just 4-5 truck spots for overnight / reset hrs. parking but the nearest truck stop is just 5 miles away - Country Express at 2601 Monroe rd. Exit, Bellevue, WI

Staff were friendly. Appt time 1700 on Sunday, was unloaded and ppwk in hand at 1900. Had to wait while they split 46 pallets into 80-some, which i thought was weird. Verify my stuff and send me on my way, rearrange it on your own time, but hey every place is different. There was just 1 other truck here besides me. Not congested, easy to get to and get into a door. All in all, not a bad experience. I'd come back. Besides, its Green Bay. Go, Pack, go! 🏈
