I refinanced my recently purchased truck with STFCU and our loan officer was really friendly and very helpful. Helped us out a lot by sending us eletronic document so that we would't have to come into the bank only to make deposit to open our new account. Highly recommend STFCU for vehicle loans their rates are amazing and staff is friendly.

Any member of South Texas Federal Credit Union who is at least 18 years old, and has a checking account is eligible. Additionally, your Check Card functions as an enhanced ATM card that can be used at thousands of ATM locations around the world. With your Check Card, there is no need to carry your checkbook or large amounts of cash.
One of the most popular benefits of credit union membership is payroll deduction. With payroll deduction, you can earmark a certain amount from your paycheck to be deposited into regular share accounts and/or to make loan payments. This service is reserved for employees of school districts who have their paychecks deposited to their STFCU account by their school district automatically each month.

Went in to get issue resolved regarding my master card; girls were sitting together and gossiping. I asked for Janie to help me but was told she had just left for a 30 minute lunch but would return. I left and came back only to be told she had gone home ill (how convenient). Since I got upset, Daniela says she’ll take my info and try to help. She goes to a back office behind closed doors, comes back and says she wil be calling the company to straighten out the problem and then changes the whole story by saying she will pass info on to Janie. I feel she lied to me !!!!!

I have been a member for a while but their service seems to get worst and worst. As you walk in there’s is no one to welcome or help you the front end reps Were all talking amongst each other. I seating for over 15 min without being helped and another man walked in and sat down next to me at the same time with not being helped.
A young lady passed right through us without even saying hi or question if we have been assisted, this girl was wearing WHITE SEE THROUGH PANTS. how unprofessional!!!!!!!
I walked to the teller line and at first no one seem to be there to helped but another young girl

Worst CU ever. If something comes up that's not a run of the mill daily item, they don't know anything. No one that can make a decision is available. They don't return phone calls. They people that answer the phones are polite but don't know anything and can't get anything done. I've called everyday for 2 weeks to get my issue resolved. Promises of calls being returned but nothing.

I agree with the 1 star reviews. It's very difficult to get a hold of someone, I've just been hung up on by the system 3 times, the ladies are unprofessional, i could go on & on but i won't. I believe my 1 star review along with the others says a lot already!! Can't find who to talk to & express my dissatisfaction because service seems to be the same at all levels 🙄 If only someone cared enough then maybe issues would be solved but no one does so improvement seems to be out of reach I guess.

I refinanced a vehicle within the last 2 weeks via STFCU, and the experience was excellent. Jackelyn helped us in every step of the process. She was the epitome of professionalism with the highest degree of customer service. I am proud to be a member of this quality institution since 1997. Please, let them take care of all of your banking needs, they know what they are doing!

They never answer the phone. Theres about 5 girls behind the counter doing nothing.
You ask for a supervisor and they tell you she or he is not there.
It's the only bank with the lobby closed.
I thought we were all good now that we have vaccines. Terrible business!!

There never seems to be anybody available to pick up the phones. I have been trying to log on to my online to reset and no one answers. Went thru drive thru gave me a temp password that would expire in 15 mins and needed to have a computer on hand yeah right.

My family and I were affected by hurricane Hanna and we thought that we weren’t going to be able to fix the damages, but when we went to STFCU Mrs. Rosie Uc gave us the best customer service that we have ever received in any bank. She was so nice, professional, dedicated, understanding of our situation and she understood that we needed the loan as soon as possible. Mrs. Rosie Uc made the process of the loan so smooth that in less then a day our loan was approved. Awful phone app and online services. They are always "updating" so this crashes your account, the reset never works on phone app or online. If your techy or expect fast app or prefer online this will be a nightmare, sometimes the phone 24 hr service also does not recognize your membership usually due to a glitch on their part. Get used to hearing "you have entered and invalid member number". Not worth the headache.

I appreciate how I am always treated like a valued customer at this credit union. They make everyone that walks in feel this way. If you are are not getting this experience from your bank, it is time to look into this one.

I really enjoy the customer service and professionalism at South Texas FCU because they really care about anyone who walks in that door. I even overheard an agent helping out another client with step-by-step instructions on how to access their account online. That's what you expect from a place like this, and I'm glad to be in business with them! Thank you, Mr. Paz and all your staff for a wonderful experience every time!

It's an ok bank, the employees here are rude at times, roll their eyes, and are sometimes just annoyed with working with you.

Have to look into other credit unions. Sad that people can't strive to do his or her best at a job.

Thank goodness this doesn't have to often. Although that should not even be an issue.

I have had problems with this bank in the past but was convinced (because of my mother) to keep the account because of the good customer service. WELL, now it has neither good customer service nor good banking practices. If you enjoy being screwed at every possible opportunity, you should definitely sign up for an account today! As for me? I will be taking my money some place more professional.

Do NOT even consider becoming a member of this credit union. I just spent 20 minutes in the drive-thru because they had only ONE lane open for cars, on a FRIDAY! As I type this, I have been ON HOLD for over SIXTEEN MINUTES for them to attempt to find a member of management I can speak to. Isn't that SCARY??
A couple of their tellers are kind and professional, but this credit union offers THE WORST customer service anyone could possibly imagine!!!!

Call me old fashioned, but if I have an opportunity to choose a business for their customer service, I will. This is why I chose a credit union, this one in particular. Recently I found out that they are making "changes" and thus let one of their best employees go after almost twenty years working there. Shameful. She was the only one who went her way in making sure I was satisfied. And now that smile is gone. I will take my banking business somewhere else for good.
