Each soil core is extracted to a uniform and specific 9 depth in order to evaluate the majority of the secondary root zone for most agronomic crops.

Pettiet Ag Services Incorporated (PASI) was founded in 1973 by Dr. Joe V. Pettiet in order to provide detailed soil test information to growers in the Mid-South. Long before the use of GPS technology in agriculture, PASI developed a method of grid sampling on a 10-acre grid size using aerial imagery and NRCS standard soil surveys.
Soil sampling is hard work and many soil test providers have switched to automated sampling devices which collect cores of highly variable sample depths to composite into a single sample. Soil test recommendations are dependent on samples collected at a uniform and consistent sample depth. Our samples represent consistent 9 cores which provide accurate data to base our limestone and fertilizer recommendations.
Detailed soil testing for samples delivered to this laboratory with recommendations for all regional crops. Soil sampling, testing, reporting for conventional fertilizer and limestone application based on a 5-acres/site sample intensity. With this 3 year management program, the grower will receive a book with color thematic maps to illustrate the data showing the deficient areas, nutrient variability and range in lime and fertilizer needs.
