As a result of continuous growth, we are currently in our 4th location, an 8000 square foot suite. Stockbridge Tae Kwon Do Academy is a full-service after school and multi-martial arts training academy offering a safe and comfortable environment. The academy is owned and managed by Troy and Satoko Bates and dedicated to Troy's mother Margaret (Margie) Bates who lost her battle to cancer.
Since opening we have trained and nurtured numerous Black belts, including notable success stories: Canadian All Woman's Olympic team member; Junior Olympic participant; Canadian Kick-Boxer; Our true international culture and diversity allows us to better connect with and assist students of all backgrounds and ethnicities.

Services
In our Remote-Learning Day Camp, we provide a safe, clean, enriching, and monitored environment in which students can participate in their online classes supervised by our staff. Students will also have recreational time, as well as be given Tae Kwon Do classes every day. In our after school program, our staff picks up students from their respective schools upon school dismissal in our clearly marked studio vans.
At Stockbridge Tae Kwon Do Academy, we provide superior-quality Tae Kwon Do training to children and adults. Our master instructor, Troy Bates, has been intensely trained in Tae Kwon Do under both the World Tae Kwon Do Federation and the International Tae Kwon Do Federation. Under his training and guidance, our students learn self-defense, conditioning, discipline, and emotional/behavioral temperance.

Awesome experience for our boys. They are learning so much more than forms and techniques. They are learning life skills, conflict resolution, and critical thinking all while having loads of fun. This past year and a half has been amazing. Thank you Mr. Troy and staff for caring about our boys as athletes but more importantly as people.

Both my kids started about 3 years ago. At first my daughter was hesitant and even against it. Now I can’t miss a day!! My kids love going and I love watching them progress. Master Troy is patient and pushes his students to try harder. My children have become more confident and disciplined in all that they do. This has become like their home away from home. The entire staff is friendly and professional.
COVID 19 protocols are in place to keep everyone safe. Temperature checks at the door and hand sanitizer for everyone is available. Masks are required for all that enter the studio.

My son and I started taking taekwondo at Stockbridge Academy almost 3 years ago. This has been one of the best decisions I've made for my little family. They offer kids classes and adult classes. We've learned so much and have grown in so many different ways! Troy, Satoko and their entire family are some of the greatest people and spend countless hours supporting their students in every way possible.

I love this place! Temperatures are taken at the door and hand sanitizer is provided to all that enter. They are spot on with their Covid policy and procedures. They clean and sanitize daily...so wonderful to see.
My son has been a student here for a month. I’ve waited this long to do a review, just to give us enough time to get a good feel for the staff and classes.

It was the best decision for my family to attend this wonderful martial arts school. My kids have learned not just how to protect themselves, they have also learned many things like memory retention, confidence, self control, problem solving with their mind. Their body learned how to balance, coordination, flexibility and endurance. They have also learned patience, to be respectful, integrity, humility and perseverance... My daughter has attended Stockbridge Taekwondo for 4 years. Mr. Troy is an excellent instructor and he takes teaching very seriously. He provides a safe and nurturing environment for all students. The environment is very structured and discipline oriented. I couldn’t ask for a better place to send my child. The entire staff is awesome!
