Looking for Online Ag Ed Resources? Look No Further! Education Foundation, Inc. Promoting the understanding and appreciation of the importance of agriculture in our daily lives. The Urban Garden Grant is open for the 2021/2022 school year! MAEF will be offering up to $500 for the creation or expansion of community gardens.

For a donation of $10 per calendar, you can receive MAEF's 2021/2022 calendar featuring agricultural artwork from student winners from across the state. Nominate a Teacher for the Velma M. Clark Excellence in Teaching About Agriculture Award!. The purpose of this award is to recognize a Maryland K-12 teacher for his/her excellent job in incorporating agriculture into his/her core curriculum.
Services
The Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 dedicated to increasing agricultural literacy and agricultural education, MAEF is a nonprofit organization with programs serving pre-kindergarten through post-secondary audiences. MAEF signature programs include "Infusing Ag in the Classroom" professional development courses for teachers; mobile science labs; mobile agricultural showcases and Maryland FFA.
Beginning in 2002, MAEF, the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), and the Maryland FFA partnered to provide the services of the Maryland FFA. Acting Executive Director, Terrie Shank, provides day to day administration of the state officer program and state competitions. The annual financial report is a reminder of the activities of the last fiscal year. Living with the day-to-day execution of MAEF's outreach and administrative initiatives it is easy to overlook the aggregate successes.

It is not an exaggeration to say that the four mobile science labs, the trained educators, the two Maryland Agriculture Showcases, the Farm Based Education programs, the FFA programs, and the staff and Board presentations reach over 200,000 individuals with the message of agriculture's importance in everyone's lives.
The Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation's Mobile Science Lab Program teaches elementary students in Maryland the importance of agriculture in their everyday lives. Each of our three themed labs feature a wide variety of 50-minute experiments and investigations as well as 25-minute mini-lessons based in agriculture.
Filled with colorful displays and interactive exhibits, the Maryland Agriculture Showcases travel to fairs, festivals, and events across the state. The Showcases attract and inform visitors about the importance of Maryland agriculture in their lives. Attendants help kids with hand on activities adding to the Showcase experience.
