Wausau Child Care is a NAEYC accredited, not-for-profit, fully-licensed and community-based organization specializing in quality care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Our service depends on an educated, well-trained and experienced staff of childcare professionals.

Our programs reflect our genuine desire and commitment to providing care which significantly exceeds minimum requirements, while responding to the needs of parents, employers and of the organizations in the greater Wausau area.Wausau Child Care is dedicated to providing children with a warm, loving, consistent environment designed to foster physical, social, intellectual and emotional development while recognizing that each child is unique.
Services
Wausau Child Care began providing care for children in 1968 with 13 children. Today, Wausau Child Care has two facilities caring for our Infant/Toddler and Preschool Programs plus 5 School Age Program locations caring for your elementary school aged children conveniently located in 5 elementary schools in the Wausau School District.
Wausau Child Care serves the greater Wausau area by providing childcare at multiple locations. Our Westside and Cedar Creek centers offer childcare for infants up to 5 years and each have a 4K program. The School Age Child Care program provides before/after school care, as well as care during school breaks and throughout the summer.
Wausau Child Care participates in the CACFP of nutrition. The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) promotes healthy and nutritious meals for children and adults in day care by reimbursing participating day care operators for their meal costs. The Program operates in regulated child care centers, outside-school-hours care centers, family day care homes, and some adult day care centers.
Providing high-quality early care and education is critically important to enable children to learn and savor the building blocks of life. Working with children provides an opportunity to shape lives and ensure the future of our community. The careers available offer numerous opportunities that are both satisfying and rewarding.
Thank you so much to the staff and to Wausau Child Care for being there for us working parents and our children. We are a full time working family with 2 young children and when they announced virtual learning for the Wausau School District, we didn't know what we were going to do! You are giving our family a sense of normalcy with our daughters going to Kid's Campus, being with friends and being in a school setting with teachers.
