The Bicycle Peddler is located inside the Savannah Rapids Park at the junction of the Historic Augusta Canal and the Savannah River. We offer BIKE RENTALS to explore the 7.5-mile Augusta Canal Trail giving glimpses of wildlife, offering stunning scenery, river overlooks/access, MTB single tracks and connecting with the heart of Augusta and the Riverwalk area.

Although we're tucked into the lower level of the Mill House of Savannah Rapids Park across from the stunning Reed Creek Waterfalls, The Bike Peddler started out as a mobile business in 2011 under a tent alongside the water's edge of the Augusta Canal. Gene Whitaker, aka the "Bike Whisperer" lugged bikes on a trailer to the water more than 200 times during his first two years as the bike renter.
Think of our Hudsons as part Explorer and part Earth Cruiser. Capable but cool. Casual but on it. JAMIS BIKES blended the flowing curves and shaped tubes of their carbon Dakota 29'ers and their aluminum DXT's and and came up with a smart frame design that rides comfortably, casually and efficiently while making a bold statement all at the same time.

Bicycle Peddler’s customer service is outstanding. I showed up with three bicycles on a Saturday afternoon. Sam was able to fix all three bikes in about an hour. That was incredible and unexpected. He adjusted the brakes, tire pressure, check the gears, tighten up the screws, installed two bike stands and changed two tire tubes. This is by far the best bicycle shop I ever done business with. His prices are very affordable too. I was able to ride with my son for about 4 miles. That in itself was priceless.. I recommend this shop to anyone needing maintenance or looking for a new bike.

Great service. No nonsense. Wish I caught the guy's name that helped me but he was super quick and gave such a fair price. I brought in two brand new, Department store-bought bikes and asked for a basic tune up (which other places will run you about $50-75 a bike). He got to work, did a quick inspection and adjusted only what needed it, and charged for only service provided... Didn't think it was possible but my bike felt newer when I rode it. Definitely recommend.

There is no better place around. I came in with a flat and some tension issues.
They had it fixed in 15 minutes or less and charged me maybe 20 or 25 bucks.
I was shocked at the magic they did to my bike. I ride a not very fancy department store bike that's maybe 8 or 12 years old. It runs better than new. Not good as new, BETTER than new.
Chain reaction didn't answer their phone when I called, Outspokin quoted me a 3 week turn around, and Bicycle Peddler had me in and out. This should have been my first choice. Now they are my only choice. Best bike shop around.

The people there are one of a kind. Customer service is outstanding, prices are remarkably reasonable, the bike mechanic is very knowledgeable, the shop is right next to a trail system to either ride your new bike from the shop or your recently fixed bike, and you can rent bikes from the shop. As a person who has been to many bikes shops over the years this one takes the cake.
