From our founding in 1996 by Sonya Kennedy, CDC has brought excellence to the local dance community! Our staff is continually attending conferences, conventions, and webinars to keep on top of their game and guarantee that each class is the best it can be. Every dancer is encouraged to grow, to reach their goals, and given the tools to become successful adults in the real world.
We don't just teach dance; we teach life lessons to music! Our staff is always looking for ways to fine-tune our studio, our teaching, our technique, and our dancers. We maintain a curriculum through all levels, beginning with our 2-year-olds, and it really shows! CDC is home to many professional dancers, aerialists, and even a World Dance Champion.

25 years of bringing the love of dance to all ages by sharing its beauty, power, and vision in fresh and unique way! We strive to make all of our dancers feel welcome and at home in our studios, whether they are competitive or recreational dancers. Our staff is invested in each dancer's success, on and off the dance floor!
Marie has been dancing since she was three years old and joined CDC's competitive team at age ten. She has won many awards, including Miss Teen Dance, California Arts Scholarship, numerous Top 10 Overall Awards, and CDC's Senior Dancer Award. She has also performed for numerous local teams including Team Rave, Shasta College's production of The Nutcracker and Chico's Just Keep Dance Alive.
Kids' birthday parties at California Dance Company are the best! We can tailor any party to your child's desires. Want a Princess Party for your little dancing diva? Or an Xtreme Boys Hip Hop or Tumbling Party for your rough-n-tumble boy? Maybe your tween would love to gather a bunch of friends and learn some cool new dance moves for those junior high dances?
Our personal California Dance Company experience began seven years ago when our daughter was just three. We enrolled her in dance as a way to keep her active and socially engaged with children her own age. We never imagined the level of training she would receive over the years to follow. At CDC, our daughter has grown into a poised, confident, and graceful young lady and dancer.
Tiny Tots classes introduce our youngest students to the world of dance! From tap to tumbling, jazz to ballet, Tiny Tots will learn it all through games, music, and plenty of fun! Mini classes give the opportunity for dancers to explore different styles as they grow and play! BALLET or BALLET/TAP: Dancers will wear a light pink leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers.

I have a son and a daughter that have both been dancing at CDC since 2013. They absolutely love it and consider CDC their second family. The teachers and staff are amazing! My children are also on the IP Intensive Dance Team. The training they receive allows them to travel all over California and out of state to compete at regional and national levels. I would highly recommend CDC both Redding and Anderson locations!

I would recommend California Dance Company if you want the best in the area! The Redding studio has allowed new dancers to become part of our CDC Family and has given more opportunity for unity in our community. The teachers are passionate about the CDC mission and they are always striving to keep the studio current. Sonya continues to improve and expand her business while finding new and creative ways to motivate not only her dancers, but her community.

My daughter started dancing at California Dance Company when she was 3 (in 2009). When we started going there, we were excited to see our daughter was being taught the technique that helped her to become the dancer she is, but what really has made us stay, and never consider moving is that CDC coaches care about my child. They teach the kids discipline and the value of hard work. They teach the kids not just how to be better dancers, but better people in general. They teach team work, determination, and to encourage others. They offer not just the typical dance classes you see at most studios,
