This class is a great place to start, if you're new to the program. A specialized dance class for adults with neurological challenges designed to focus on your mind and body to move with purpose, creativity, musicality & grace. Classes provide a joyous experience that enhances one's balance, while simultaneously developing control and freedom of the participant's movement.
In addition, we acknowledge that cultural equity is necessary for the long-term viability of the greater arts community. As both individuals and an organization, Lineage recognizes and implements the life-long work that goes into making our organization a vehicle for positive change.
It is our experience that inequitable access to the arts harms communities and reinforces outdated systematic practices including, but not limited to, white supremacy, systemic racism, and the hetero-patriarchy.

Dance - Theatre - Community - Outreach - This a place to see wonderful performances that reach out to the community often illuminating the challenges that ordinary people face. It is a fun place to take a class in a variety of types of dance. It is a special place of accessibility to the arts for people facing movement challenges. It is also a place that partners with other non-profits in the community. The Lineage Dance for Joy program is a unique gift to the Pasadena community offering 6 free classes a week for people with neurological challenges such as Parkinson's Disease, Stroke, dementia

I was looking for a studio offering modern dance classes in the 626 because I really needed to go Pina Bausch for a few moments in my life; the feelings/urges strike around the winter solstice. But I wanted a jump start into it of a class in a group setting.
I love love love that this place as a non-profit, offers free movement healing classes for TBI, stroke, Down syndrome, and Parkinson's. A class is $14, well worth it - seriously, take my money. A package deal is 70ish? And there's currently a Yelp $200 for $240 deal for the well committed.
Their website is useful and informative

I absolutely love this place. Drop in for one of their evening performances with Lineage Dance Company -- they do shows that are so universally relevant -- about cancer survivors, parenthood, homelessness -- the programming is so thoughtful and centers around topics that touch so many humans.
Also, they offer classes and personal training -- I've never personally taken class with them, but they are so lovely and warm that I can only imagine how great their classes must be!

This place is a gem in the crown of Pasadena and deserves to be discovered by a wider audience. I've taken classes with different instructors but has mainly taken Nancy's Modern class on Saturday mornings. Nancy is approachable and thoughtful and great at explaining techniques. Come and stretch your body and soul

I have taken classes from Malinda and Lisa and I adore them both! Their classes are a great work-out, and miraculously, I feel like I am becoming a dancer. If you're just starting out with dance, Lisa's Boogie, Booty, Ballet class on Tuesday mornings is a great place to start. Fun music, wonderful stretch and warm-up time, and easy, straight-forward dance steps all work together perfectly for a fun and challenging (but not too challenging) work-out.

The dance classes are fun and amazing, the teachers are enthusiastic and helpful. Wine and tango night is a treat. There is a gallery space incorporated into the performance space. Bathrooms are always clean and the staff is always friendly and upbeat. This place feels like my home away from home. The dance shows are spectacular, I fully support what Lineage Dance brings to the community of Pasadena. Every event focuses on raising awareness for different issues and other non-profits.

I went to the Lineage Performing Arts Center to see a dance show called "Journey" by Zahra Zuhair's Ponana on 11/14. The show was fantastic. The dancers were professional and the choreography was just amazing... These beautiful dancers did the show to raise funds for the Children of the Night organization. I was really touched by the quality of the performance and by the kindness of them all.
I will definitely come back to this cozy theater for future performances!

I recently came here after noticing their center when driving on Fair Oaks then realizing that they were the ones putting on the Cultural Dance Festival in Pasadena.
I took their company repertory class which was taught by the artistic director, Hilary. She was a great instructor. The class was small, but the atmosphere felt full and exciting. I really enjoyed learning a section from one their company's piece. You can also learn their company's modern based warm-up.
Overall, a really inviting environment for the progression of dance and other performing arts.
