Vulcan Basement Waterproofing
A wet basement can affect the structural integrity of a home, dramatically reduce the home's value, and cause a number of health-related problems. Stop worrying every time it rains. We will get your basement 100% Dry, Guaranteed. Crawl spaces are dark and damp with humidity levels ranging from 50%-90% which provide the ideal environment for mold growth, mildew, insects and rodents.

Crawl spaces should be encapsulated and waterproofed. Cracks in basement walls should be addressed before more serious structure issues occur. Cracks in foundation walls develop for a variety reasons: Soil Erosion, Hydrostatic Pressure, Shrinkage of Concrete or Mortar and Construction Problems. Finishing your basement is the least expensive way to add additional living space and value to your home.
Services
Decades ago, in cooler climates, there was a need to house large coal and wood fired heating plants. This was done in the space below the house, which we now call the basement. It was the smart place to put it because, as we know, hot air rises and the heating plants could be more efficient if placed below the space to be heated.
It's the water you can't see that can destroy your home's foundation! Pitch or tar used to waterproof exterior walls at the time of original construction often deteriorate in as little as 3 to 5 years leaving the walls unprotected against the tremendous hydrostatic pressure of a high water table, underground streams or capillaries.
French drains are underground water management and drainage systems developed by the ancient Romans but popularized by Henry French, a Concord, Massachusetts judge and farmer, who wrote about them in his 1859 book, Farm Drainage. Generally, French drains are installed at grade level to redirect surface water.
A sump pump is an electric pump that is installed in the basement of a home and used to pump water out of the basement. Sump pumps generally work in combination with a sump pit, a hole dug in the basement sub-floor to collect water from the perimeter of the basement before it comes up to the floor.
A wet basement and the associated groundwater accumulation can affect the structural integrity of a home, dramatically reduce the home's value, and cause a number of health-related problems. Hydrostatic pressure is caused by underground springs, rivers, and/or a fluctuating high water table. Signs of hydrostatic pressure include water that seeps in at the cove (where the wall meets the floor) or up through the slab floor.

Had a waterproofing emergency this last week when we got hit with a terrible storm out of nowhere. Despite being in the middle of the pandemic Vulcan was able to send someone out within an hour. Their “no-contact” emergency service unreal, and I now know who I’ll be using for my other properties even after this twilight zone episode we all happen to be stuck in! Thank you Vulcan for saving the day in such a prompt and professional manner, and please stay safe out there!

Vulcan installed this stone work a little less than 2 years ago and this is the result. We are so disappointed because it was part of huge cosmetic overhaul of the whole store and now has become an eyesore. Our brand new tenant is likely not pleased with it either as they previewed the space when the stonework was first completed and looked nice. We have been trying to call for MONTHS to no avail. This is the first impression customers get when they walk into our store and we could not be more unhappy.

I had Vulcan put in a french drain a couple years ago. They tried to be clean (it's a dirty job) and the system seems to be working on the whole. My only issue is that my original sales guy was terrible. Basically told me my house was going to crumble if I didn't put a drain in right away. We only get minimal basement water every couple years. That being said, I dealt with a different guy a few months later and he was fine. What I was more impressed with is that the pump wasn't working recently but I didn't get around to getting it fixed. We are in the middle of a Noreaster

We had a basement flooding issue about 7 years ago, in spite of previously having a French Drain installed by another company. Vulcan came in, replaced the old pump, expanded the drain and added a second pump at the front of the house.

They were fast and efficient, and they left the basement clean and ready to be refinished. Since then the only sign of water we have had is when we hear the pumps kick in. The basement is bone dry and we have peace of mind.

Oh, and their price was also very reasonable.

I found Vulcan on home advisors, they came and gave a free estimate to address water collecting in our basement. The representative arrived on time for our Friday evening appointment, he diagnosed the problem fairly quickly and recommended installing a French drain. He was professional and very courteous (no HARD SELL) we set an appointment for the following Monday. The workers arrived on time, showed there credentials and went to work, the job was done neatly and completed in a few hours. Its been a month and we have had some heavy snow and rain and so far ABSOLUTELY NO WATER IN THE BASEMENT

Living by the water, my Mom has had a longstanding issue with water collecting in her basement. Over the years we have tried many products and companies all of which never allowed for a permanent fix.
Thankfully, a friend suggested we call Vulcan.
The Vulcan consultation provided 2 different suggestions for our issue. When my family was unable to decide what to do, Vulcan agreed, pressure free, to visit our home once again.
After then deciding to use their service Vulcan provided an easy to understand contract and followed it up by completing everything promised.

We had Vulcan take care of a water issue in our basement several years ago and have had absolutely no problems in that area since. We recently started getting water in a new area so I didn't hesitate to call Vulcan again. They did an excellent job this time as well. We just had a ton of snow and then a ton of rain that melted that snow and absolutely no water to be seen. i would recommend them to anyone!

3rd visit to repair the basement they repaired: Drainage pipe was routed to pour water into my neighbors basement, When pump turns on the exposed pipes shoot water at the walls and door.
Foreman was drinking at first job (could smell it) I was called sweety and honey about 20 times in 10 minutes, and when the second foreman showed up to look at our complaints from the first job he LAUGHED at me for being upset about the water being pushed into the neighbors Yard. 3rd Service call and Customer service guy Matt, wanted to talk me in circles on my issues wasted a ton of my time with stupid phone

We called Vulcan for an initial inspection for a flooded basement.

When we set up the appointment, they told me my husband needed to be present for the consult as apparently, I am unable to make decisions without him.

My husband is a very busy attorney but he left work early on the day of the consult to arrive at 7pm on the dot for the 7-8 pm appointment window.

I recieved a call from Paul that our consultant was running behind like 10-15 mins, so now my arrival would be 8:15 instead of 7-8. I said ok and asked that they still come since my husband had gone through the trouble already to

We had a problem with water in our basement, and Vulcan installed a drain 3 1/2 years ago. We have not had a problem since. However, the cap on the exhaust pipe broke (probably because of the very harsh winter), and Vulcan replaced it with no problems. They are a very customer oriented company.

Is there 0 Stars? Short review - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

They jackhammered into and broke our water main inside our house and flooded the entire bottom floor with 4 inches of water. When they were looking for the water shut off valve - they went to the back of the house and started turning valves in our fire sprinkler system pump house. When water was eventually restored (32 hours later) they left valves open and flooded this room where we were storing pictures, paintings, etc to keep them out of the contruction area. Unfortunately for us, both of our water heaters (2 family house) are in
