Founder Walt Bader has been chemically sensitive his whole life, and learned at an early age the importance of checking ingredient labels. Recognizing that finding products that are both functional and chemically acceptable to him was a challenge, Walt created Lifekind in 1997 - a mail-order brand dedicated to organic and naturally safer household products.
All of our certified organic mattresses are handcrafted in the USA, have a 20-year limited warranty, and meet the GREENGUARD product emission standard. You can purchase with confidence, since we offer a 90-Day Comfort Exchange on our beds. Certified from beginning to end, we make the purest natural mattresses on the planet - every time.
Organic foundations do three things for a mattress. First, they ensure proper air circulation, thereby discouraging mold and mildew. Second, they provide fabric-to-fabric contact so your mattress does not rub against rough surfaces such as wood or metal. Finally, they allow you to adjust your mattress height from the floor.
Your best friend deserves the best. Our pet beds are filled with organic cotton and certified organic shredded rubber, then covered with a removable, washable cover made from organic cotton canvas. Just as synthetic materials outgas in human beds, these same materials can be hazardous to our pets. Research has found that the aromatic oils found in red cedar can be the cause of respiratory or allergic reactions in small animals.
Customize the feel of your mattress by adding one of our luxurious certified organic pillow toppers. Any style may be added to one of our organic mattresses, and will provide an additional layer of cushioning to enhance your comfort. All of our organic pillow tops meet the GREENGUARD product emission standard and are handmade in the USA.

Ordered a bed for my cat directly from lifekind. They sent an email that I have to download a third party app "shop", sign up on the app just to track the order which is pathetic and very inconvenient. After 23 days of zero tracking information and zero communication, I called them and spoke to a rude hostile "admin" and then eventually a team member. They had no idea when the item would ship, I cancelled and demanded a refund immediately. I would never do business with this company again and you should highly avoid it.

This company does not stand by any warranty please be warned. I bought an extremely expensive mattress from them (along with sheets and bedding, spent a fortune). The mattress collapse after 2 years. I am only 5'1" and 95 pounds so this had nothing to do with my size. They made me go through all kinds of stuff to make sure it met their standards for warranty. Then told me I had to donate it to get half my money back. Guess what there is no place that takes donated mattresses anymore. Can you believe these people? I am so furious and frustrated. This has taken dealing with them for two

Customer service not friendly. Bought 2 King Wool Wrapped Shredded Rubber Pillows. They had a 30 day trial leaving the plastic on that puffed up with air. The pillows were lumpy, firm, caused neck pain & heavy even after removing a lot of the rubber. I have looked at other companies & found a lot of them offer 120 to 100 night trial. One company I talked to mentioned they have a huge amount of confidence in their pillows so they offer the 120 night trial.

We've been a long time customer. This month, we purchased four organic cotton towels. Towels arrived so we washed in Goat Milk Soap (GMS laundry soap is simply made with goat milk soap, borax, washing soda, and baking soda. It doesn't contain any nasty, unwanted chemicals and is not designed to bind to your clothing. Laundry soap is made with real goat milk soap and is a wonderful alternative to store bought laundry detergents that can be irritating to the skin and bad for the environment). After use, towels have terrible smell. Spoke with Sara at CS. Told to try baking soda (which is in the GMS

In good faith, I ordered a very expensive mattress from Lifekind. Kyra was very sweet and respectful during the ordering process. However, I found the entire process very stressful, as I had such difficulty receiving a confirmation for my delivery date. After finally receiving my mattress, I was so pleased with its apparent quality and comfort.
After six months, I turned the mattress to make sure it would wear properly. While doing this, the cloth "handles" on one side immediately started to tear. I still managed to use the handles on the other side to turn the mattress successfully

I researched for 6 months all mattress companies and all components and toxins. My husband is a physicist and worked in organic compounds and chemicals.
We bought three mattresses and a wool flannelette cover. We bought a crib mattress in 2008. It still looks new and is totally organic (most companies say they are but are not). It is supportive and comfortable. It is firm so babies don't suffocate. We used it for 2 babies and now our six yr old is still using it as it fits a toddler bed. ***So Yes I give it a ten and I would buy no other crib mattress. ***The customer service was also a

The pillow did not fit and did not support my neck. i returned it in a smaller box than the original packaging. Since you have to pay the return charge, the original packaging would have cost me half of the price. The refund takes up to 2 months, excuse they have their inventory. Since i send this pillow not back in the huge cardboard box they took $29.00 of my refund, which i have never experienced that you get not the full refund if you package it in a different box than it came in. I WILL NOT BUY FROM THEM AGAIN, They told me that i took the plastic cover off and stuffed it in a cat litter box

Lifekind is anything BUT kind!! This is a HORRIBLE company that exists to rip off the public. We purchased two pillows that seemed OK so we removed the plastic wrap. Within 3 weeks of use, the pillows became lumpy and flat. Now we are out a ton of money because this company does not stand by their products. Buyer beware!!!

I must admit I was overly ecstatic when I first place my order with this company. I'm quite sure that my friends and coworkers are over me talking about wool pillows. I had called beforehand and spoke with a very friendly person and ask them tons of questions about the pillows. He even asked me how I slept and recommended that I went with the full wool pillow. Even reassured me that I could always return or do an exchange. So I place my order for two standard full wool pillows, a toddler pillow, and a king size comforter. Throughout the order the shipping was $40 and as I was checking out it had

Some of their products are good, but know that if you have to return something, you will be treated very badly. By badly I mean uncivil behavior, and an unwillingness to back up their products and their claims about their products. Since there are so few truly fragrance free companies, I really wanted to have the professional relationship maintained, but it was not possible. Very sad.

I didn't realize fire-retardant is so bad for you until the saleswoman told me about it.
I've had the Lifekind natural latex mattress for 6 years and still love it. A few days after we slept on it, my hip pain disappeared. My husband and I have different firmness , which I'm not sure I would do next time had I known there's a bit of a firmness where the 2 sides meet. So sleeping in the exact middle, over the years, has become less comfy. Not terrible, but when we turn the mattress, I get his side, so it really doesn't matter. The only downside of all the memory foam and

Our new OrganicPedic mattress is like sleeping on a cloud while being cradled in an angel's embrace as it rains fluffly little kittens and cotton balls from the sky. Okay, maybe not the kittens because they have claws. But you get the picture.
We were in the market for a new mattress after we threw out our old one because we thought we had bedbugs (we didn't--long story). So we tried them all--TempurPedic, Sleep Number, Dormia. We decided we liked the combination of memory foam and latex. However, we wanted one that minimized chemical and pesticide use. A friend of mine had just purchased

THE place for organic bedding and other home stuff. A favorite is the Organic Egyptian Cotton Blanket...for sweet sleep.
Everytime I give one of their Newborn Organic Gift Baskets it is the mom's favorite present. It includes a blanket, hoodie bath towel, wash cloth, receiving blanket, mild soap and a stuffed toy. IT ROCKS!!
Plus they are super great with customer service on the phone and ship orders out pdq. Their website needs work, without having rec'd a printed copy of their catalog I wouldn't know about some of their products. With more intuitive navigation they'd get
