We are a private family practice medical clinic, serving North Iowa, including Mason City, Clear Lake, Forest City, Manly, Garner, Nora Springs and other nearby towns with compassionate medical care and biblical counseling. In 1989, Dr. Mahoney founded Anchor Family Health Center with the goal of honoring Christ through the creation of a competent medical practice and clinic.

Dr. Mahoney, M.D., views his practice of medicine as a ministry. He approaches his patients as individuals created in the image of God. His approach addresses not only physical and psychological needs, but spiritual needs as well. He has over 30 years experience in private family practice care and provides care for the whole family, including pediatric and senior care.
Our counselor, Scott Mathiasen, offers individual, family, and marriage counseling. Scott believes that a person's faith greatly influences one's self perception, one's situation, and one's worldview and will strive to engage your framework of faith as part of your counseling.
Scott graduated from the University of Iowa in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College in 1993.Counseling sessions are 50 minutes long and begin on the hour. We strongly encourage our clients to call your insurance provider before scheduling a session to ask about the mental health benefits provided by your policy.

If you would like to send or discuss your personal medical information, please contact our nursing staff at the above address. For your privacy, our nurses use an encryption service. Emails received from our nurses will require a 'secret code' to open. Because of this encryption, the nurse is unable to accept emails from those who have not been contacted by the nurse email within the last 3 months.

Very caring staff! The doctors are very good about actually taking time with you, listening, and caring not just for your physical health, but also for you as a person. Very holistic focus. This is very refreshing and unique medical practice that I would highly recommend for any individual or family who wants quality medical care from caring staff!
