Kipling is not just a shoe store it's an experience. This area used to have many shoe factories. Though they don't do that for the general public any more they are a specialty shoe store. It's an odd mix. They are BIG on work shoes and boots for men and women! They have shoes that are size 15 and smaller and maybe larger. They have one back section where all the Amish and Menonites buy their shoes. Did you know such a place existed? They sell Minnetonka moccasins and other unusual footwear. They have lots of running and athletic shoes. What they don't have is dress shoes, particularly for women

My husband went to buy work boots today.I got the vibe that they thought we were thiefs. Asking for our ID when we checked out but not asking for the couple in front of us. We are young, but that doesn't mean we can't afford to buy a pair of boots and honestly i just thought I had that vibe but as soon as we got in the car my husband told me he felt the same and if I would of known that we would of walked out of there instead of buying anything. We usually go places closer to where we live but he wanted to go here this time. Almost an hour away to be treated like we were going to steal from them

Great experience. Called ahead to see if they had the type of work boot I was looking for and upon arrival they had set out every boot I might be interested in. Caroline spent a lot of time with me and made sure everything was perfect. Huge selection and awesome staff. Best experience in 20 years of buying work boots.

Kipling doesn't have a very good selection of shoes, and their prices are a bit high on some shoes that aren't very well made. However, the owners are very polite, and I did find a pair of Nike's that I really liked, and a pair of decent snow boots. Other than shopping online or in the children's department at Walmart, Kipling is the only store between Huntington and Charleston that carries shoes in my size that don't have glitter or cartoon characters on them.
