As a truth-teller and disrupter, Rynders embraces vulnerability, confession, grief and failure as means to end burnout and racism at the bedside, which acutely impacts those we care for.
Drawing from her experience creating theatrical performances in hospital settings and intimate arts and play-based workshops for nurses, Rynders harnesses her passion for nursing and the arts to collectively honor our shared humanity by creating a culture of caregiving nested in curiosity, creativity, and joy.

In the early stages of her college career, Sharyn Fein assumed the role of her ailing mother's sole caregiver. Martha Fiddes is a Physical Therapist and a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatrics. John Steele is the president of Alternative Living Choices, which assists older adults find housing in the greater Dallas area.
I have had the opportunity to know Sharyn Fein for the past 5 years. As a mental health physician specializing in geriatric care, I was a presenter at the first Compassion Fatigue Symposium in 2012. It was there that I witnessed firsthand, Sharyn's compassion and masterful skills in rallying members of the health care community in support of professional and personal caregivers.
Healing others often leaves caregivers with little time or energy to heal themselves. The Compassion Fatigue Symposium educates caregivers through interactive professional support and training on self-healing techniques. The Symposium targets those who experience emotional and physical fatigue common to professional and personal caregivers.
