Based in Canton, MA, New England Solar Hot Water (NESHW) was founded in 2008 with the goal of making solar hot water systems more accessible and affordable for businesses and homeowners alike. One of the first solar hot water companies in Massachusetts, NESHW quickly developed a reputation for providing reliable solar hot water systems that met all of the requirements for the state's many tax rebates and incentives.
Today, NESHW has expanded its services to offer heat pump water heaters and solar photovoltaic (electric) systems, allowing us to meet the growing demands of commercial property owners in Massachusetts. Our focus and experience sets us apart from the competition: all we do is design and install solar hot water and electric systems.

Find out how easy it can be to switch to solar hot water, and how the benefits of renewable energy can help you save money and the environment. Take advantage of generous tax incentives and rebates, find out if you're eligible for assistance, and save money while reducing your carbon footprint. This is what we do.
Massachusetts is the best state in the country for solar hot water incentives and rebates. Massachusetts is the best state in the country for solar hot water incentives, with about 50% of the system cost paid for by the rebates and tax credits. NESHW offers the best value and highest performing residential solar hot water systems- no one else come close to our price, experience, and system quality.
An investment in a solar water heating system will outperform the stock market or your 401k, hands down. Initial return on investment is at least 15% if you heat your hot water with gas and as high as 25-40% if you heat with oil, propane or electricity. Unlike your 401k, these returns are tax-free, and will only increase as fuel and electricity prices continue to skyrocket.
A NESHW 'New England Drain Back' appliance provides environmentally friendly heat for household hot water. Although the system initially costs more than conventional water heaters, the fuel it uses - sunshine - is free. The main components are: the solar collectors, the storage tank, pump and controller package, and an insulated line set that runs between the collectors and the storage tank.
Our last oil delivery quickly prompted us to investigate solar hot water among other actions to reduce our oil use. Installing solar hot water surfaced as a step that would make a significant difference. I investigated on line, made phone calls and got pricing from many companies. I was immediately impressed with NESHW - all of their staff were knowledgeable and answered my questions quickly and accurately.

They installed Solar Hot Water for us just over a year ago. Of all the energy efficient installs that we did (heat pump and solar PV), this was by far the best value. They did a great job with the entire process and have always been response (both before and after the install). I would definitely call them again the next time I need a system installed.

We had them install a solar hot water/thermal system in our house in Arlington. The work was done professionally and well. The project had no major surprises and the resulting system has been operating well since installation May 2017. At the time we had the system installed the net cost was only 25% of total cost because the Feds pay about 30% and MA pays 50%. Additionally, if you have a Mass Save energy audit done first, you'll receive paperwork and OK to pay your portion via a no interest multi-year loan.
