A youthful, spry refreshed face is a common request for facial rejuvenation procedures. Aging, weight loss, skin changes and laxity, and sun exposure, can lead to facial imbalance, where the skin descends and is not tightly supported over the bone and ordinary locations. The eyebrows fall closer to the eyes, excess eyelid skin begins to bunch up, dark circles can form at the undereyes, all giving a tired, haggard appearance.
Otoplasty or cosmetic ear surgery is done for repositioning/"tucking" prominent ears or asymmetric ears to make them less noticeable or less projecting. This may also include addressing large or improperly folded or malformed ears, to create a more proportional size, and pleasing naturally appearing ears.

Dr. Steinbacher is the best of the best! From day one, I felt comfortable and confident to go to him for my rhinoseptoplasty. Recovery had discomfort due to the stuffiness of the nose after but there was nearly zero pain and I have no scar at all from the surgery! I can now breathe through my nose perfectly and no longer have the bump that I disliked so much. He truly did an incredible job on my nose and is an excellent surgeon. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing Dr. Steinbacher and his team are. He is an insanely talented, capable surgeon (I call him THE guy for when you need orthognathic, jaw-related surgery), but also very kind with a wonderful bedside manner. Backing him up is a stellar team of PAs, nurses, residents, and office staff. I had such a great experience! I went in for a consultation/a few more appointments and then was scheduled for surgery. The process was very easy going and on the day of surgery all the doctors/nurses etc made me feel very comfortable and not nervous. The healing process went smoothly. The first few days I was uncomfortable but not in any pain. The aftercare instructions were simple to follow and I healed pretty quickly with minimal bruising. My husband and I were extremely nervous about the Bimaxillary surgery necessary to correct our daughters jaw issues- that is, until we met with Dr. Derek Steinbacher. I had Lefort I, BSSO, and genioplasty with Dr. Steinbacher 7 months ago. He is the best of the best. Fantastic surgeon, extremely talented, and a perfectionist. My 3D presurgical planning models were spot on with my end result. I knew I was in great hands when undergoing this major surgery. The entire staff at Yale was wonderful. I have referred many patients to Dr. Steinbacher for the same surgery and will continue to do so!

Dr. Steinbacher and his team are amazing. My daughter had a La Fort 1 jaw surgery done in 2018. After years of treatments this was the answer. He is a perfectionist! His team couldn't have been better. Tell a 16 year old girl you are doing surgery on her face...then insert terror and drama. She always felt at ease and knew she was in the best hands possible. Dr. Steinbacher, his team (Lily !!) and everyone at Yale were remarkable. Feels like we won the lottery with him.

I had reconstructive jaw surgery, and my debated septum repaired last year; Dr. Steinbacher couldn't have made the journey easier. He made me feel comfortable, confident and eased my mind before surgery. Yale Medicine put me in a beautiful room, and the care was phenomenal!
