Slow service still waiting for our food.. one waitress and one helper who cleans tables and answers phone calls and takes the payment. Seen several people walk out because they were waiting to long. The y really need to hire more waitresses your better off door dashing your food because Ive seen door dash come several times to pick up food and where served first. Anyways let's see how the food is... update soon.

What a great lunch. I ordered cocido (beef soup) that had a great rich flavor with just enough zucchini, carrots and cabbage. The bowl was small but sufficient. The meat was tender and enhanced the flavor of the soup. Lunch came with rice, beans and tortillas. It took about 15-20 minutes for the soup but was hot and steamy.
The restaurant has been in the same area for sometime and was busy when we arrived. Prices are reasonable. Always a good meal at Maria's.

The service was mediocre, are server was very sweet, however, waited 50 minutes after ordering to get our food. The food made the wait a total waste of time. Ordered the menudo, thankfully I only wasted my money on a 1/2 order and even then, disgusting. I have yet to have a really good bowl at any restaurant but this was barely edible. The machaca was not much better.

I came to this place because my brother would always say the burritos there are good. The place is really close to Pd headquarters. Its a little ran down divey looking place which I dont care as long as the food is good. I ordered a chicana burrito and some ham and egg burritos. They were good. They taste authentic like mom or grandma was in the kitchen cooking up burritos. The only downside was the wait. I believe I waited around 35-45 min. I was supposed to meet up with others for breakfast (I was bringing). That is my only complaint and reason I took off one star. I didnt expect to wait that

Great Chorizo and Eggs. The menudo is very tasty and fresh. I usually never rate the traditional Chips and Salsa but the Chips were very warm, crunchy and lightly salted. The Salsa Rojo and Salsa Verde was so delicious. The interior is dated but clean and airy. I will be returning next time I am in Stockton. FYI, Maria's Cafe is housed in a former Chinese Restaurant from the 1970's.

The best freshest food! I have been doordashing and the food is prepared beautifully. Exactly how when we go to the restaurant. We like the burrito lunch and breakfast bags. These burritos we get all the time. The best!! All the meals are super good. My hubby likes the huevos rancheros with chicana.

Great place to eat in Downton Stockton. Love their homemade flour tortillas. Flautas craving... burrito needs... taco wants.. multiple (hangover helping) soups... carne asada... garlic shrimp... the best rice and beans.. they are here. Ordering for pick up was a breeze. Vegetarian/vegan options!!

If I could this a 10 star I would. This restaurant really makes you feel at home. We've been coming to this restaurant for years and the food is authentic and delicious. It's a local family friendly owned business . The owner is always friendly and makes you feel at home. The Bacon and Eggs breakfast is excellent, the food at this restaurant is amazing and had never made me sick. If you are in the mood for authentic home style Mexican food this place is for you.

Couldn't even place an order by phone because immediately the person who answered the phone had a bad attitude and was very rude. I asked a simple question and she yelled at me WHAT DO YOU WANT?, WHAT DO YOU WANT!! So I said to her I wanted to know what you add to your burritos so I know what to order but with that attitude never mind, have a good day and hung up.

I have been eating here with my family since I was a child. The food is good clean home cooking, very close to our own family. It's like eating at your tias house.
Don't expect fancy plates with garnishments, don't expect the waitresses to greet you with fake smiles and high pitched compliments. Think of them like your cousins grabbing you a plate to eat, sometimes with attitude sometimes happy. Just shut up and eat.
The food is excellent and the prices are great.

Food was great as always. But one thing is different today. Even though they were very busy the service was on point. Immediately served and constantly came to fill my coffee cup without me asking.
Even someone that I think is the owner, looked happier today. Usually she frowns a lot.

I like this place for certain things such as the Albondigas. They make it just like I do with potato, carrot and zucchini. And I like the fact that you can get a lunch or dinner sized portion. I really love the fresh flour tortilla chips (which you don't find at most Mexican restaurants) but I don't really care for either of their salsas.
I have placed many to-go orders and they're always ready when I get there but that is the best thing I can say about the customer service. Most of the waitresses are unfriendly and seem annoyed when you ask for something when dining in. Still
