In 1965, Howard Eiffert established Boone County Lumber next to a rail line in Columbia, Missouri. At 1100 Rogers Street, in the heart of a county named after the famous pioneer and explorer Daniel Boone, business thrived. Howard was a dedicated leader and company visionary, not only by pouring into the business he built but also by mentoring other business owners in the mid-Missouri area.
He retired as president in 1998, but not before seeing his two sons, Greg and Brad, take on the roles of president and vice-president respectively. From one generation to the next, Boone County Lumber has grown in recognition on a national scale in the building materials industry.
