Yoga has become a way of life for Misty over the last twenty years. She has been teaching for 15 years and continues to feel grateful that her job is to share her love of yoga with the world. In 2012 Misty received a bachelor's degree in Science from Michigan State University. Over the course of her studies at MSU, she spent 4 months in Nepal studying Ayurvedic Medicine.
Peoples Yoga has a marvelous ventilation system, 2 hospital-grade air filters, beautiful rope walls, and a professional camera system for live-streaming classes. Please check the schedule to see which classes have an in-studio option and which ones are still online. ALL CLASSES at this time offer a live-streaming option through MindBody.
Misty created this class for anyone who has a hard time kneeling, putting weight on their wrists and getting to and from the floor easily. Taking this class is a lovely way to build balance, hip strength, upper body strength, core strength, mental clarity, and inner peace without overdoing or risking injury.
We offer yoga classes for every body. You do not have to be flexible, a certain size, or have a specific amount of strength to join us. We will meet you where you are, and start with breath (the basis for all movement in yoga). Feel free to call us ahead of time if you have questions. Our community is comfortable holding space for laughter and tears.
SUMMARY: Most people experience at least one traumatic event in their lifetime, and many people experience struggles related to trauma long after the event has passed. Trauma can change our brains and bodies and disconnect us from ourselves and from others. Restoring the mind-body-social connection is crucial for healing, and yoga can be an important tool for strengthening that connection and recovering after trauma.

Quality care and instruction —— a wonderful yoga studio. There is no wafting patchouli and yesterday’s disturbing dust. The moment you step in, you feel the professional vibe — the studio is beautifully designed and cared for: clean, organized, aesthetic bliss. The instructors are well trained, following the owner, Misty’s leadership.

Misty is the best. I’ve followed her at other studios throughout my rehabilitation after a horrible accident and I’m so glad she opened Peoples Yoga! She knows the body INCREDIBLY well, and teaches yoga with proper form -which is so important. I never thought I would enjoy yoga, but I love her classes and always feel better after a session.

This place is life-changing. I found the studio at a tough time in my life and in my practice, and it was just what I needed. The space feels so safe and inviting, and the diversity of classes offered make it truly a studio with something accessible to everyone. The focus is on engaging all parts of yourself to achieve a stronger mind-body-breath connection versus a single-minded prioritization of the physical workout.
Every time I step onto my mat at Peoples Yoga, I am reminded of what yoga should be: welcoming, inclusive, fun, and about connection -- with the community of yogis around you and

Fantastic yoga studio. Classes (and privates) for every need, and every type of body. I love Misty's philosophy of "long and strong". It's not only about stretching, it's about strengthening, too, but with respect for your own body and your own pace. As an older person with arthritis, I really appreciate the non-competitive spirit.

Everything about this studio makes it special: the teachers, the space, the diversity of classes, and the teacher training. The training is one day a week, so, spread out longer than a typical training class. This helps to really absorb, reflect on and practice each lesson. Misty is passionate about making sure that we are learning alignment principles that will keep us and our future students safely practicing yoga for a long time to come. I have really enjoyed the classes and my fellow students.

Peoples Yoga Studio provides a great quality of diverse yoga classes/practices. All of the teachers are genuinely caring for you, your body, and your life. My experience as a disabled senior, has been excellent. I have learned the important detail of postures how to modify, and the benefits you can derive from pose. I recommend Peoples Yoga Studio, Misty (owner/lead teacher), and all of the staff and fellow students to you regardless of whether you are a novice, a long-time yogi, or just searching for something. A+ experience!

Through the many options offered, Misty Belous, the owner of Peoples Yoga Studio in Lansing, has created a vibrant and supportive atmosphere. Peoples Yoga offers classes and individualized sessions for clients at any and every level of expertise. (There is no cost for veterans who enroll in one of her intermediate classes.) I was a neophyte when I started with Misty five years ago, and like other students in their eighties, I am much more supple, and mindful, thanks to my weekly practice. Kudos!

This studio offers a large variety of classes that accommodate individuals with a broad spectrum of fitness. One on one yoga sessions with a teacher are also an option. The atmosphere is welcoming and supportive.
I have participated in classes and private sessions with the owner, Misty Belous for more than ten years. She is knowledgeable, conscientious and very caring. I would recommend this studio to beginners as well as advanced students.

Peoples Yoga is a welcoming space that supports students, as well as teachers. I am so grateful to come in and experience all the details and love that have been put into the studio. There are options for experiencing yoga in different ways, whether you want to have an adaptive yoga class, therapeutic, functional movement, spiritual, flow, or yoga with props. The teachers are treated as collaborators that are able to contribute ideas for making the space special and are paid fairly. The owner of the studio, Misty, works hard to not have yoga philosophy at odds with the business of owning the studio

Peoples Yoga Studio is exactly what the name implies: yoga for all people, regardless of age, shape, size, gender or ability. Misty takes time to explain each pose with an emphasis on proper form, not speed. She is brilliant at tailoring poses to each client’s particular needs, and always gives alternate adaptations for each pose. The atmosphere is positive, supportive, calming, and non-competitive. I always leave my Chair Yoga classes feeling stronger, taller, and ready for the rest of my day. And lest you think Chair Yoga is an easy class, let me just say that I am continually challenged by
