Services
Sports medicine rehab programs include retraining the athlete who is recovering from injury or who is working to elevate their physical performance. Sport specific programs utilizing activities such as running, jumping, or throwing are designed to meet the athlete's needs. Our location inside of the YMCA athletic club is the ideal facility to work on achieving your fitness goals.
Julie was born in Utah, but grew up mostly in southern California. She attended the University of Oregon for her Bachelor's degree and will always be a "duck" fan. She then received her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy in 1991 from Idaho State University. Julie has worked in both hospitals and a variety of clinic settings in Pocatello, Teton Valley and in Sandpoint.
Advance Physical Therapy has been working with professional athletes, student athletes, individual athletes, and coaches in the Sandpoint area for over 20 years. We are uniquely positioned to serve the needs of athletes as we are located inside the Litehouse YMCA athletic club. Because of this, we have access to all levels of weight-training equipment, sport courts, balance/agility equipment, as well as a pool.
Motor vehicle accidents are unfortunately very common these days. Each accident is slightly different, and the injuries sustained depend mostly on the type of collision, your location in the vehicle, body position, age, and existing medical conditions if any. Most individuals involved in an MVA recover within 2-3 weeks; however, it is not uncommon for many people to have lingering or recurring pain after the event.
Advance Physical Therapy has offered aquatic physical therapy for over 20 years and our therapists have extensive knowledge in creating water-based programs for a variety of diagnosis. One of the reasons aquatic therapy can be beneficial to patients is because the water absorbs most of the pressure our body weight typically puts onto our joints.

After having surgery on my lower back I was pretty helpless for a month or so. But the crew at Advanced Physical Therapy made sure I was ready to get back on my 2 feet. My right leg was atrophied pretty badly but they pushed me to get better. Thanks guys, I'll be back after the next surgery 🤕

The ladies at advance helped me get mobile again. They are very professional and help make the healing process more enjoyable.
After seeing several specialist and doctors it was Julie, Shelly, Katie and Amy that came up with a custom plan that and had me back up and going when I wasn’t sure anyone else could.
I would challenge you to find a more helpful staff for your rehabilitation.

I’ve been to four physical therapy businesses in the past 5 years from Alaska to Arizona, and Advance PT is by far the best of the three. I learned a lot from all 4, but the therapists at Advance stay with you during the entire session, give you much more individual attention, and are very professional. Other places seem to teach you the exercises, and then you are on your own for the most part after that. Some people may like that approach, but I prefer the approach of Advance PT

I don't know how they managed to combine such a breadth of knowledge with such a welcoming and kindly service, but they do.
They're based in what used to be the old SWAC (now the YMCA.) Which provides access to a lot of really great fitness equipment, which they are able to utilize in their rehab work.
I have been much impressed by the two professionals I have worked with: Julie and Katie. They are both kind, knowledgeable, direct, and totally supportive of my journey and goals, I highly recommend both of them and the agency itself.
PS Don't be put up for the fact they are on the first floor

I came three years post partum with a horrifically painful c section scar and non existent pelvic floor strength. After seeing Julie one time I knew I was finally going to get the help I had been asking my doctor for! Julie is so sweet and genuine. She never did anything that hurt and stopped if it did. My appointments were the most relaxed thing about my week. After only 10 visits she helped break up my scar tissue and adhesions AND I can finally wear jeans again without cringing and crying from pain. 11/10 reccomend. All PP mamas need to come see her for pelvic floor therapy. Julie will be your

The staff at Advanced Physical Therapy are very knowlegable, experienced, and also, something that is important to me, they are very kind, caring and compassionate. I've had to have physical therapy other places before and there's definitely a difference in the healing process when one is treated in a gentle, nurturing environment.

Having had several operations (5) in these last years, I have "made the rounds" of the Sandpoint PT offices.
Go to Advanced!
By far. Great therapist and a whole athletic club full of new equipment and pool/other.
Get well.
