Island Salt Air opened its doors in 2016 as the first and still remains the only Hot Yoga studio in Galveston. All of our instructors are accredited and registered through Yoga Alliance, we take pride in being a globally recognized Yoga Alliance certified teaching school. Our masterful teachers offer a variety of classes seven days a week to provide our students the opportunity to develop and deepen their practice at all levels.
Advanced Baptiste Power Vinyasa is founded in the Baptiste Methodology which incorporates asana (the physical practice) as an access to vitality, power and freedom, meditation as a means to getting present, and self-inquiry as an access to new possibility. These intermediate/advanced level classes are a sweaty, challenging, power yoga class.
Journey Into Power is founded in the Baptiste Methodology which incorporates asana (the physical practice) as an access to vitality, power and freedom, meditation as a means to getting present, and self-inquiry as an access to new possibility. It is a powerful, physically challenging class that connects postures through vinyasa, a transition between postures that involves motion with the breath.
If booty dancing and yoga had a love child; buti yoga would be the end result. Get ready to let loose, shake your booty and raise your heart rate in this high intensity, fun aerobic dance work out. Buti Yoga is a dynamic physical practice fused with primal movement, HIIT cardio, tribal dance and deep core engagement.
The best of both worlds! Come for half or stay for both giving your body, mind, and spirit a complete Yin / Yang experience. This non heated class offers 30 minutes of intense work targeted on the centerline of the body followed by 30 minutes of slow deep stretching to open, restore, and replenish.

A real gem -
I have practiced at Island Salt Air for about two years now. The space is beautiful. Big windows you can stand in front of and look out as opposed to just staring at a mirror or a wall. Melody has to be one of the most positive individuals I have ever met. She is always so warm, welcoming, and encouraging. Definitely look out for her on the schedule as she does not teach as often as I'd like.
Whenever I have a concern I can email the studio and get a response back in a day or so. When COVID hit she was great about letting me pause my account when everything shut down.

The studio was clean, class was exactly what I wanted. Instructor was cool. I do think $20 for you first class is a little high, maybe $15. Nonetheless, I would go back.

I dropped into a 6AM yoga class with Natalie while on vacation in Galveston, and it was AMAZING. The class was challenging and fun, Natalie is a compassionate and confident teacher. You could tell the studio was very well run, and the cold lavender towels at the end of the practice were a vacation in themselves. Thank you!

As an tenured Yogi (not good, just seasoned), I can't express enough how much we love Melody and Island Salt Air Yoga.
This is the best yoga in Galveston! I've studied under Melody for three years, and her energy, expertise and structure are incredible, as is the quality of all her teachers.
If you're living on the island and looking for a yoga studio to call home, this is your place! If you are an island visitor, try it out!
Whether you are new to yoga or experienced & looking for a push, they are simply the best the Island has to offer!

ISA is home! In my 8 years of yoga practice I have never been to a more open, loving and community driven studio. Melody, Olivia, Natalie, Deanna and all the teachers are phenomenal. There is an offering for anyone interested in aligning body and mind through the added power of a hot studio. For the more advanced Yogi, look no further than Melody's Tuesday/Thursday 7:30pm Advanced Baptiste Power Vinyasa. You will be challenged! Did I mention the cold lavender towels during savasana?!?!

Beautiful studio. Nice and hot. One of the few places left that offers 90-minute classes. Always a friendly welcome. Parking no problem (use the parking app and it won't charge you if you check in before 9 a.m.!).
