I have been blessed to work on some pretty interesting projects (1879 Historic House Renovation, 2 day builds, houseboats, ICF LEED Platinum house, and the list goes on).
This doesn't even compare to working with and getting to know some really talented folks & even running my own successful remodeling company. One of my passions has been (well for better lack of a term), "green building" as the area I grew up in was heavy into super insulated buildings, solar heating & electricity, etc.

As a Certified Home Energy Rater and ICC Residential Energy Inspector / Plans Examiner, we can provide you with the needed energy models, code compliance reports, certified duct leakage (aka duct blaster testing) and envelope leakage results (aka blower door testing) that are required. Looking at stepping it up a notch?
The Duct Tightness (AKA Duct Leakage or Duct Blaster Test) is only required for new systems when the entire HVAC system and duct work is not completely contained inside the buildings thermal envelope. Depending on which Compliance Path you chose when initially pulling your permit will determine the allowable leakage rate - is it 3%, 4%, or does it just need to be tested?
A Blower Door Test AKA an Envelope Leakage Test is a diagnostic test to measure how tight or leaky a home, unit, or building is. This test is mandated by the energy codes for new construction (aka Duct & Envelope Tightness or DET) but is also used to help diagnose issues &/or tighten up ones existing home.
We are a certified independent third party verifier that helps ensure everything was done right the first time. Preliminary Rating: We will work with you, your architect &/or designer to help you get the best bang for your buck up front by using our 20+ years of experience & knowledge to get it designed right from the start.
