Second Spring provides two licensed, residential treatment facilities dedicated to helping its residents develop and implement personal recovery plans that will help them become independent, contributing members of their communities. As Level III Care Homes, Second Spring offers nursing and psychiatric services, as well as clinical, vocational and case management services both on-site and in the community.

Our recovery philosophy is simple: We believe that with personalized treatment, opportunities for growth, support, and a nurturing environment, all individuals can grow, thrive, and heal from emotional distress, illness or injury. Our staff and residents work together to create a shared community of mutual respect, recovery and safety.
Services
Part of this document included planning for Community Recovery Residences (CRR) to be established throughout the state to help mitigate the census of the Vermont State Hospital.

As this was an innovative care modality with few examples to follow across the United States, The Clara Martin Center, The Howard Center and Washington County Mental Health joined forces and established a new corporation called Collaborative Solutions Corporation (CSC) with the executive directors of each agency forming the board of directors. The first CRR to be developed by CSC under the new modality was Second Spring.
Q: Can I (as a mental health professional, family member, or counselor) refer a client to Second Spring? A: It depends on the situation. In most cases, residents are admitted to Second Spring based on referrals from the Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury, VT. (See our Admissions process). In some cases, members of the medical or psychiatric community may also wish to refer individuals who they believe could benefit from our services.
Second Spring is the ideal place to work if you enjoy working in rural, aesthetically pleasing Community Recovery Residences. The program at Second Spring is a recovery-focused, wellness-based model that values the individual strengths and creativity of employees. Individuals who enjoy helping others discover and develop their greatest potential and desire to work with like-minded people are encouraged to apply.
Second Spring South - our original facility, a fully reconditioned 14-bedroom farmhouse/inn situated on 45 beautiful acres in the quiet, rural town of Williamstown, VT. Second Spring North - our newest facility, Second Spring North is located in Westford Vermont. The facility is an 8-bedroom reconditioned inn located on ten secluded acres.
Our personalized treatment programs are carefully designed to reflect each resident's needs, interests, and objectives. To that end, each resident plays a major role in developing and implementing his or her own Recovery Plan.

Other participants include the resident's Case Manager, our Clinical Director, Medical Director, Social Worker, Case Manager, Nurse, Recovery Partner, and, when desired or appropriate, family members and other support persons.Because no two residents are completely alike, each resident's Recovery Plan is tailored to his or her unique and individual circumstances.
