Our staff averages MORE THAN 18 years of experience with two techs over 30 years, which contributes to our reputation as one of the highest quality repair facilities in the area.

John is a fourth-generation resident of the Libertyville/Mundelein area and his great grandfather was the Mundelein Sheriff from 1942 to 1948. John's father bought Gustafson in 1975 and as a young boy, John helped around the Mundelein auto shop and caught the automotive bug. In preparation to follow in his dad's footsteps, John went to Lake Forest College to earn a B.A. in Business.
As one of the most reputable auto body repair shops in our area, we strive to give our customers the peace of mind they need to overcome the stress of being in a Mundelein car accident. If you are going through insurance, the tow bill will be billed directly to them. If you decide to pay out of pocket, the tow bill will be added to the final bill and due at the time the repair is complete. If you need a rental car, we can help you make the necessary arrangements. Insurance companies will only pay for a rental car if you have that option on your policy or if you are the claimant.

I found my new body shop!!!! The Team at Gustafson is absolutely the best - most friendly, accommodating and reasonably priced auto repair experience I've ever had. Completely unrelated to my repair, the mechanic even buffed out a scratch I had near my gas tank and tried to not charge me a dime for it. Their attention to detail and service is unparalleled. You owe it to yourself to give them a shot.

Had my 15 year old Acura repaired there after it was hit while parked. They did a perfect job. They found a few things that the insurance estimator missed, and worked with insurance company to assure all was covered. Work was finished when promised. Hopefully I won't need their services again, but if I do I'll certainly go back.
