There are many methods to remove the stump yourself, all of which are inherently unsafe for you and your property. These methods might be hooking it up to your truck or SUV and pulling it out. This is probably the most dangerous method of amateur stump removal as it can cause damage the the fram of your vehicle and also send chunks or tree flying through the air.

Excellent service. Lonnie came out promptly at the scheduled time. Made a very fair estimate to remove a 45 ft tree and trim the arbor vitaes that had been damaged by heavy snow. He was very nice to the surrounding plants around the tree (no damage to them at all!) And the Arbor vitae look great! Very happy and will always use them.

We had a SUPER Large Old Cherry Tree that came out of the ground in a "V". It has been here for more than 50 years and had a Huge hole in one of the trunks and a couple of large dead limbs on the other side. It was a beautiful tree however it was time to go. It was already cabled together in three places and if it fell this winter in a windstorm it would have taken out the neighbors house as it was leaning that way. Lonnie gave us a more than a fair price and was very professional. He showed me the area that he would use to drop every branch and then every log so I could clear the area

We called Lonnie with Alpha to get a quote and he seemed to be capable. Not entirely business like in that he didn't produce a written quote but we were ok with that. We spoke to him several times about scheduling because we had just purchased the house and had several contractors coming in behind him to remove the grass and build a fence. Well the day he was to begin work he called to say he wasn't comfortable taking down the tree. Really screwed us at the last minute! Would not recommend!

We've used Alpha Tree Care for a few jobs around our house. They felled a few trees in the front yard that leaned dangerously close to our home that could easily be blown over in high winds due to being planted on a ledge. They have also trimmed tree limbs, trimmed our front hedge (though I am not sure if that is their primary service) and cut back some bamboo invading from a neighbors lawn. The owner, Lonnie, is a friendly guy, easy to reach and is knowledgable about all tree-types.
