You've worked hard for what is yours. Whether you own a home or manage a rental property, property insurance protects you from unforeseen circumstances. Homeowners: Purchasing a home is one of life's biggest investments, but ensuring you have the proper insurance to protect it can be a major challenge.
A Homeowner's policy covers more than just your home. Selecting the right coverage levels for personal property, outbuildings, medical payments, liability, and more, ensures you're adequately covered in the event of a serious weather event or other major loss. It's not uncommon for certain coverages to be overlooked in a homeowners policy.
Most condo associations cover your roof, outer walls, and plumbing between units. That's it. Often, the two most important coverages you can have as part of your Condo Insurance policy - Coverage A (drywall, toilets, light fixtures, carpeting, kitchen cupboards, and countertops) and Coverage C (personal property such as, clothing, furniture, and electronics) -are not covered.
A renters insurance policy covers contents -clothing, laptop, television, etc., and personal liability - protection in case a lawsuit is brought against the insured. For some, loss on contents will not cause financial harm, but a lawsuit can. If you accidently leave the windows open during a rainstorm or start a kitchen fire, the personal liability portion of your renters policy will cover you.
Flood insurance protects a property owner against surface water entering a home or dwelling. A home policy excludes water completely unless it comes from a broken pipe. In other words, without a flood policy, your home is not covered for any other sort of water entry. This type of coverage is especially important if you live along the Rock River.

Eckburg is awesome! They were most attentive to our business needs and educating us on future needs and what it will look like. We were provided "White Glove" service and even received a call from the owner just to see if they had covered everything with us! Wow what a family team. We appreciated the above and beyond service because we are a grassroot organization and had limited experience in insurance until Eckburg! Get Connected nonprofit couldn't have asked for a better experience.

This review is for Eckburg insurance group, but especially for one of their representatives, Carla Towns. I recently bought a home and was looking to insure it. Since I was a first-time homeowner, I went with Allstate who also ensured both of my cars. I knew Carla from mutual friends and I asked her if she could quickly peruse my policy, just to make sure nothing was missing. Even though I wasn't a customer of eckburg's and within hours, she returned my call to let me know of a few things she saw were missing- one of them being sewer/water backup protection. I called Allstate and added
